Hotel updates are rarely good news for travelers, but Choice Privileges is making some traveler-friendly moves ahead of 2025.

There’s much to cover, so here’s what you need to know.

Choice Privileges 2025 Updates

Choice Hotels has some big news today. First, the chain announced that it’s extending its award night booking window to 50 weeks in early 2025. The move triples the current booking window, giving guests more options for booking award nights worldwide.

Additionally, Choice says that guests will soon be able to use their Choice Privileges points on premium room options, not just standard rooms, at select hotels. That means guests can book premium rooms with extra space or better views.

Finally, the hotel chain is introducing a program dubbed Choice RewardSaver. Last year, Choice acquired Radisson Hotels Americas. Choice will reintroduce that program’s redemption tool, allowing members to book award stays starting at just 6,000 points per night.

“These latest enhancements, coupled with our rapidly growing list of hotel options ranging from luxury and upscale properties and resorts to value-oriented hotels, ensure that members have the opportunities to use their points on what they care about most,” said Noha Abdalla, chief marketing officer.

Booking Choice Hotels With Points

Choice is 1 of the world’s largest hotel chains, with 7,000+ hotels and resorts in 45 countries.

Similar to other major chains, Choice doesn’t use an award chart. But unlike other programs, awards tend to be more affordable in the Choice Privileges program. The cheapest Choice awards start at 6,000 points per night (thanks to the new RewardSaver program). Even award rates at its top-tier brand, Preferred Hotels & Resorts, top out at under 90,000 points per night.

Choice Privileges points are pretty straightforward to earn. American Express Membership Rewards points and Capital One miles transfer to Choice at a 1:1 ratio. Citi ThankYou Points and Wells Fargo Rewards transfer to Choice at a 1:2 ratio, meaning you’ll get 2 Choice points for every 1 point transferred.

Hot Tip:

You can also earn points through Choice’s 2 co-branded credit cards with Wells Fargo. Both the Choice Privileges® Mastercard® and Choice Privileges® Select Mastercard® offer big welcome bonuses after meeting a minimum spending requirement. You’ll also earn bonus points on all Choice purchases and elite status with the program.

Final Thoughts

This is pretty exciting news from Choice Privileges. Usually, when hotels announce major changes, it means a devaluation. But these updates from Choice are all excellent news for travelers. We look forward to these changes rolling out early next year!
