Save up to $400 on a Hotel Stay With These Citi Travel Promotions [Targeted]

At Upgraded Points, we rarely pay full price for a hotel stay — if ever. While redeeming points is often our preferred strategy, there are times when paying cash can deliver even more value.

For the month of September, Citi Travel has launched new targeted promotions for those with the Citi Strata Elite℠ Card or the Citi Strata Premier^® Card. Here’s a closer look at these new offers, providing up to $300 in savings.

Citi Travel Promotion Details

Citi Travel has launched new targeted promotions for eligible cardholders. Through September 30, 2026, targeted Citi Strata Elite cardholders can save $100 on a hotel booking of $500 or more.

In the same time frame, Citi Strata Premier cardholders can save $75 on a hotel booking of $400 or more.

Both bookings must be prepaid in full on the Citi Travel portal, though there’s no minimum night requirement to qualify. The discount will automatically appear at checkout if your booking meets the terms of the promotion.

Stack Your Credits To Save Even More

These promotions can provide a nice discount for your next hotel stay, but these deals can get even better. If you haven’t used your existing hotel benefits on either card for 2026, these deals actually stack at checkout.

With the Citi Strata Elite card, you get up to $300 in hotel credits for a stay of 2 nights or more booked on Citi Travel every calendar year. The Citi Strata Premier card’s benefit is less generous, but it still offers the ability to save $100 off a single hotel stay of $500 or more on Citi Travel, available once per calendar year.

For an upcoming trip this fall, I booked a 3-night hotel stay that came out to $565 after taxes and fees. At checkout, both the promotional hotel discount and the annual $300 hotel credit automatically applied, knocking a total of $400 off the total cost.

With the Citi Strata Premier card, there’s a similar stacking opportunity. If you spend $500 on a hotel stay, you can effectively get $175 off the total cost.

Don’t forget, too, that you earn Citi ThankYou Points on the remainder cost after the discount and statement credits. With my out-of-pocket cost of $165, I earned 12x points with the Citi Strata Elite card. Earning nearly 2,000 points back and saving around 70% off the hotel cost is a win in my book.
