Update:The offer mentioned below has expired and is no longer available.
We don’t often see award availability for Qatar Airways first class flights, mostly because its routes don’t typically fly to the United States. However, it’s certainly not an experience to be missed, with Krug champagne, an onboard bar, and massive seats.
Luckily for you all, we’ve found widespread award availability between Doha (DOH), Perth (PER), and Sydney (SYD). So, if you’re hankering for a chance to experience one of the best first class experiences in the sky — now’s the time to do it!
Fare Alert — Details
We’ve found tons of space on these flights, which normally retail for $10,000 one-way. Most of these are nonstop, though a few of the routes to Sydney (SYD) stop in Perth (PER) first.
- Class: First
- Routes: Doha (DOH) to Sydney (SYD) and Perth (PER)
- Dates: September 2023 to April 2024
- Rates: As low as 100,000 miles one-way
Your best bet is to use the calendar function on American Airlines’ website to find award space. Here’s how it looks from Doha (DOH) to Sydney (SYD):
You’ll find similarly wide availability in the other direction, from Sydney (SYD) to Doha (DOH).
Taxes and fees on this route are also really cheap, which means you’ll pay just over $64 for nearly 15 hours of first class when booking.
Best Ways To Book
You’re going to want to use American Airlines when booking these flights since they will charge you just 100,000 miles one-way for this route (or 80,000 if you want to fly business). However, AAdvantage miles can be a little more difficult to earn than others since their only major transfer partner is Bilt Rewards. When transferring from Bilt, you’ll be receiving a 1:1 ratio; this means 1 Bilt point will become 1 AA mile.
Otherwise, you can also opt to book these flights via British Airways using your Avios. You’ll pay 105,000 miles one-way, but the nice thing about redeeming Avios is that they’re incredibly easy to earn. You can transfer points from Amex Membership Rewards, Chase Ultimate Rewards, Capital One Miles, Citi ThankYou Rewards, and Bilt Rewards at a 1:1 ratio (though you’ll need to convert Avios from one program to another to access all these transfer partners).
Hot Tip:Those flying first class through Doha (DOH) have access to the incredible Al-Safwa lounge.
Final Thoughts
Who doesn’t want to fly first class with Qatar Airways? While the airline is known for its exceptional Qsuites business class product, its first class is even better. Book now with this widespread award availability before seats disappear!
