Atlanta-bound travelers, it’s time to get excited. Starting on July 30, your arrival process from an international flight could be much smoother.

In cooperation with government authorities and security processes, passengers arriving in Atlanta from London who have a connecting flight will have a much shorter process getting from their first flight to the second. This is thanks to the new One Stop Security program.

Here’s how it works and who is eligible.

What Is One Stop Security?

One Stop Security is a joint initiative between the U.K. and U.S. governments, including security agencies like the TSA and U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Under this program, passengers departing from London Heathrow (LHR) and arriving at select U.S. airports can use a new, streamlined arrivals process before their connecting flights.

Passengers with connecting flights typically need to go through passport control, claim their checked luggage, and pass through customs at their first point of arrival in the U.S. Then, they give their luggage back to the airline and go through security to get to their next flight. It can be exhausting and time-consuming.

One Stop Security, in contrast, allows some passengers to avoid all of this. They can clear passport control and customs plane-side, and the airline will transfer their luggage to the next flight. Then, they can enter the terminal directly to find their gates.

Who Is Eligible?

Unfortunately, not all passengers are eligible for Delta‘s new One Stop Security program. It’s only available to passengers departing London Heathrow (LHR) and connecting in Atlanta (ATL) before a connecting flight on the same itinerary.

If you’re on an eligible flight, you can use One Stop Security if you have either Global Entry or the Mobile Passport app (iOS, Android).

One Stop Security is complimentary for these passengers. Bags will be screened and then transferred to their connecting flights, and passengers will save considerable time and effort by heading directly into the terminal rather than going downstairs to the arrivals hall.

Delta has been offering One Stop Security in the opposite direction — out of Atlanta for passengers connecting through London Heathrow — since February 2025. Now, it will be available coming into the U.S. starting on July 30, 2025.

Hot Tip:

American Airlines is offering One Stop Security, as well, available at Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) for passengers arriving from London Heathrow.

Final Thoughts

Arriving in the U.S. typically comes with the headache of claiming luggage, dropping it off again, passport control, customs, going upstairs to security again for your next flight … it’s cumbersome.

One Stop Security will eliminate some of those headaches for eligible passengers who have a connecting flight. Hopefully, this will expand to additional airports and for more than just flights coming from London Heathrow. It’s a good start, though.
