Now, a new promotion from the chain can save members up to 20% on hotel stays in Mexico — let’s take a look at all the details of the offer!

This promotion comes directly from Marriott Mexico, which means the offer page is in Spanish. You can, however, apply the offer codes to any standard search and get results.

Of the 47 different hotels participating in this promotion, there are all types of properties, including a handful of all-inclusive hotels.

Is It Worth It?

Who doesn’t like a sale? A 20% discount is pretty significant, especially if you’re looking to stay at a high-end property. Here’s a look at a 3-night stay in September at the JW Marriott Los Cabos Beach Resort & Spa, where room rates regularly exceed $300 per night:

This is a JW property, so it’s no surprise that staying for just 3 nights will cost more than $1,000 after taxes and fees. Using the offer code D5629 for a 20% discount yields results, though they aren’t quite as generous as you’d hope:

In total, you’re saving $220.02, which comes out to a 15% discount (note that using the 15% discount 1CL code also yielded the same results). Still, saving money is saving money, and if you’re able to take advantage of the sale be sure to check both of these discount codes before you book.

Unfortunately, although the program states that it does include all-inclusive resorts, there weren’t any real savings at any of the properties we checked. Sure, there were sometimes discounts compared to the best flexible rates available for booking, but for the most part, the results weren’t promising — as you can see in the screenshot below, the “Special Rate” was the same as the “Standard Rate:”

It’s always worth taking a look regardless, but it looks like you may want to stick to standard hotels in order to take advantage of the discount.
