PLAY, an Icelandic low-cost start-up carrier, is offering a discount of 25% on flights from the U.S. to Europe this summer.
This sale ends this Friday, April 22, 2022 — so you’ll need to act fast if you want to make the most of the discount.
Here’s what you need to know about these discounted fares and some more on the airline’s routes to the U.S.
Even Lower Fares to Europe
The 25% discount applies to select routes from Boston (BOS), Baltimore (BWI), and Newburgh, New York (SWF) to Reykjavik (KEF) or onward to the following 10 European destinations (the airline flies to a total of 23 destinations in Europe):
- Berlin (BER)
- Brussels (BRU)
- Copenhagen (CPH)
- Dublin (DUB)
- Gothenburg (GOT)
- Liverpool, England (LPL)
- London-Stansted (STN)
- Paris (CDG)
- Stavanger, Norway (SVG)
- Trondheim, Norway (TRD)
The discounted fares are based on round-trip reservations and are bookable now at flyplay.com.
For example, you can fly round-trip from Boston (BOS) to Paris (CDG) with a short 90-minute stop in Iceland in each direction for just $369 round-trip.
While the bookings don’t specifically say that a 25% discount has been applied, we can reasonably assume that it has given just how low the fares are.
As we mentioned earlier, you only have until Friday, April 22, 2022, to book your flights. And, unfortunately, there are blackout dates for the sale fares. The discount is valid for travel between now and June 10, 2022, and then again from September 1 through November 15, 2022.
PLAY From the U.S. to Europe
PLAY is the newest low-cost airline offering inexpensive fares across the Atlantic via a quick and easy stop in Reykjavik, Iceland’s capital city.
The airline’s inaugural flight from Reykjavik to Baltimore to the U.S. took place on Wednesday, April 20, 2022. The next U.S. airports to welcome PLAY will be Boston from May 11, 2022, Newburgh, New York from June 9, 2022, and finally Orlando (MCO) from October 1, 2022.
If the airline finds success with its first 4 routes to the U.S., it’s likely we’ll see additional nonstop PLAY flights between Iceland and other gateways in the United States in the not-too-distant future.
Hot Tip: If Europe is on the list for your summer travels and you have airline miles to burn, check out our full guide on the best ways to get there using points and miles.
Final Thoughts
Low-cost start-up carrier PLAY is offering a 25% discount on flights to 10 incredible European destinations, from Gothenburg (GOT) in Sweden to Liverpool (LPL) in England. With some fares going for less than $400 round-trip, the only thing left to decide is where you’ll jet off to.
