If you’ve been considering visiting Qatar, a new deal can get you there for under $1,200 in premium economy this spring.
Let’s dive right in!
Fare Deal – Details
You can find the cheapest deal on American Airlines between New York (JFK) and Doha (DOH), a nonstop route operated on a Boeing 777. Other deals can be found from Miami (MIA), which includes a stop each way in New York.
Premium economy on the 777 is arranged in a 2-4-2 configuration with extra legroom. You’ll be able to bring a carry-on and 2 checked bags and have priority boarding. If you’re a non-status holder with American Airlines, this ticket will earn you roughly 5,300 Loyalty Points and 5,300 American AAdvantage miles.
Make sure to play around on Google Flights to find the best rates.
- Class: Premium economy
- Routes: New York (JFK) and Miami (MIA) to Doha (DOH)
- Dates: March to April 2023
- Rates: As low as $1,180 round-trip
Best Ways To Book
There’s decent availability throughout March and April from JFK and scattered availability from MIA.
Plug in your preferred dates into Google Flights and then book directly with American. Make sure to select the Premium Economy option instead of Main Cabin.
Hot Tip: If you’re flying from MIA, make sure to select an option that doesn’t require you to transfer airports in New York.
If you are booking directly through American, use a card that rewards you for airline purchases, such as The Platinum Card® from American Express and The Business Platinum Card® from American Express. Both of these cards earn 5x Membership Rewards points on flights, however, the consumer card’s earnings are capped at $500,000 spent in purchases per year.
You can also use a card that rewards you for travel purchases, such as the Chase Sapphire Reserve®, which earns 3x Ultimate Rewards points on all travel purchases, the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card, which earns 2x points on general travel purchases, or the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card, which earns 2x Capital One miles on all purchases, including travel (5x miles on flights booked through Capital One Travel).
Final Thoughts
This is an excellent deal for Doha. Flights from the U.S. to Qatar are approximately 14 hours long, so anything to make your trip more comfortable is a good option. Like most deals, this probably won’t last long, so book ASAP before it’s gone for good!
The information regarding the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card was independently collected by Upgraded Points and not provided nor reviewed by the issuer.
