If you plan meetings at Hilton hotels, you can earn double the meeting planner points when you book your event by the end of the year, to be completed by March 31, 2023. Oftentimes event organizers at major hotel brand can earn loyalty points above and beyond what guests earn for room charges as an incentive for booking large events at the hotel, which are a major source of revenue.
Double the Points
In order to take advantage of this offer, you need to book 10 or more Peak hotel rooms by December 31, 2022. This is valid for normal meetings only, and not valid for citywide events (meaning a major event that is essentially taking over the whole city), social or sports team guestroom blocks.
Unfortunately, it looks like the offer is only valid on new bookings only, so if you have a meeting that’s already been booked, it likely won’t qualify to earn the extra points under this promotion.
A normal meeting will earn the planner 1 Hilton Honors point for every dollar spent at the event, capped at $100,000. Under this offer, you’ll earn double those points — so, 2 points for every $1 spent.
This offer is only valid at specific properties, as well, so you’ll want to check the list on Hilton’s website to see if the hotel you’re looking to book is on this list. While most properties are on there, there are a few exclusions including some major resorts.
You can learn more about the offer on Hilton’s website.
If you don’t want to take the double points from the meeting, Hilton is also offering an alternative where you can carbon offset your entire meeting. Essentially, Hilton will procure enough carbon offset credits to cover your meeting usage. If you select this option, you’re not eligible to earn double points.
Final Thoughts
In the end, it’s not likely worth it to plan a meeting at Hilton simply to procure these double points, though it’s a nice incentive if you need to book a space anyways. You should also check the rates of competitor hotels, as if somewhere else is cheaper, it’s likely a better value than booking with Hilton just for the extra points.
