Hilton’s Tapestry Collection brand will open its first hotel in Northern Ireland, in the town of Portrush.

Here’s what you need to know about the brand’s debut in Northern Ireland.

A Bakery Reborn as a Tapestry Collection by Hilton

The Marcus Hotel Portrush, Tapestry Collection by Hilton is expected to be Portrush’s only internationally branded hotel.

This hotel will be on the smaller side and will have just 83 rooms. Guests will have access to a café, restaurant, and bar — a nod to the building’s origins as an artisan bakery.

The Marcus Hotel Portrush is scheduled to open for guests in 2025.

Hilton pointed to Northern Ireland’s “significant jump in tourism,” bringing travelers worldwide, for opening a Tapestry Collection hotel in the country.

“Portrush continues to experience growing demand for high-quality accommodation that provides an authentic experience rooted in local culture, making it the perfect location for Northern Ireland’s first Tapestry Collection by Hilton hotel,” said Graham Dodd, Managing Director for U.K. & Ireland Development at Hilton.

While this will mark Northern Ireland’s first Tapestry Collection property, the brand has more than 100 hotels globally.

Bottom Line:

Tapestry Collection hotels emphasize guests having an authentic experience of an independent hotel and feel more like a boutique hotel than a big-box chain hotel.

How To Book Hilton Hotels in Ireland

While we wait for the Marcus Hotel Portrush Tapestry Collection to open, let’s look at some hotels you can book in the meantime.

Hilton has just 3 hotels in Northern Ireland, which is part of the United Kingdom. Let’s take a look at each one:

Rates at these properties range from 30,000 to 50,000 Hilton Honors points per night for a standard room, depending on when you visit.

Like several other hotel chains, the Hilton Honors program no longer uses an award chart. Instead, Hilton uses variable award pricing, which means award nights can be cheaper or more expensive rates depending on when you travel.

But among hotel programs, Hilton Honors points are perhaps the easiest to earn. Hilton offers several co-branded credit cards, all of which have generous welcome bonuses. Members can transfer points from American Express, ride with Lyft, or dine out.

Final Thoughts

This is a really smart idea for Hilton to open a Tapestry Collection hotel in Northern Ireland, particularly outside of Belfast, where Hilton already has a presence. Portrush is a great destination for travel and is experiencing an influx of tourists to the region.

We look forward to checking out this hotel when it opens in 2025!
