Only paid stays completed after registration are eligible for this offer. Additionally, the property must participate in IHG One Rewards during your stay, which excludes some Six Senses properties, for example.

The offer’s terms say your updated status will reflect in your IHG account within a few days of completing the requirements, and your new status will be valid through the end of 2026. For ensuing years, you’ll need to earn IHG elite status under the standard requirements.

Diamond Elite status is typically earned by staying 70 qualifying nights or earning 120,000 elite qualifying points in a calendar year. Reclaiming this status after 8 nights is a good deal if you’d like to move back up to IHG’s highest elite status tier.
