It’s been a big week for the semi-private air carrier JSX, which is announcing new Texas routes just 1 day after a significant expansion on the West Coast.

Here’s what you need to know!

Promo Fares Start at $279 Each Way

JSX is starting service to Odessa/Midland, Texas (ODT) with nonstop flights from Dallas (DAL) and Houston (HOU) beginning January 15, 2024. Both routes will operate Monday through Thursday with 2 flights a day.

Promo fares start at $279 one-way between Dallas and Odessa and $309 one-way between Houston and Odessa.

“JSX is proud to support Texas’ energy economy by introducing our unique ‘hop-on’ jet service with daily flights connecting business commuters from Dallas and Houston to Odessa at the start of 2024,” notes JSX CEO Alex Wilcox.

JSX is a “semi-private” air carrier that utilizes much smaller private terminals and airport hangars. This cuts out traditional pain points of commercial aviation, such as crowds and long lines at security screening. JSX uses Embraer jets that offer 30 business-class-style seats.

The air carrier’s model allows you to arrive at the airport and hop onto a flight just a few minutes before departure, a perfect feature for last-minute travelers or those who don’t enjoy hanging out at the airport.

Bottom Line:

This news comes just 1 day after the air carrier announced that it is moving its base from San Diego (SAN) to Carlsbad (CLD) and adding flight service to Las Vegas (LAS) and Taos, New Mexico (TSM) from the new base. Flights between Carlsbad and Las Vegas begin on October 5, 2023, while the Carlsbad to Taos route begins on December 14, 2023.

Get a Statement Credit With an Amex Offer

Before you book, make sure to check your Amex Offers. You can get $100 back when you spend $500 or more on a flight with JSX through October 27, 2023.

You’ll need to add the offer to the card it was targeted for to receive your statement credit and book directly with the airline.

You’ll get the discount as a $100 statement credit. The terms say it will be issued 90 days after October 23, 2023; however, they typically post soon after the qualifying purchase.

Final Thoughts

JSX is expanding its route network in Texas with nonstop flights from 2 large Texas cities to Odessa, a route that will likely benefit those working in the oil industry. If you’re interested in flying this unique carrier, make sure to book these promo fares!
