Kimpton Brand Expanding in New York City

Kimpton Ashbel New York-Park Avenue will take over the 70 Park Avenue Hotel in January 2026. Initially built in 1928 during the Beaux-Arts movement as the Doral Park Avenue Hotel, the hotel has had a storied history in Midtown Manhattan.

Its new journey will see it join the IHG One Rewards portfolio. Kimpton Ashbel New York-Park Avenue will have 205 guest rooms and suites, including 14 connecting rooms, perfect for families. Many rooms will offer views of Park Avenue and the Empire State Building.

Amenities will include a fitness center, a cafe, complimentary coffee service in the mornings, and an afternoon wine hour.

“Our vision for Kimpton Ashbel was to create a beautifully curated home in the heart of Manhattan – sophisticated and timeless, inviting and warm,” said Brenda Correa, the general manager of Kimpton Ashbel.

The hotel’s location is ideal for both business and leisure travelers. The Empire State Building, Bryant Park, and The Morgan Library & Museum are just blocks away. For easy transportation around the city, the hotel is just a few blocks from Grand Central Terminal, which serves several subway lines and commuter trains.

This will become the third Kimpton hotel in New York, after the Kimpton Hotel Theta and Kimpton Hotel Eventi. However, the brand will continue to grow its Manhattan footprint in 2026, as the Kimpton Era Midtown New York is scheduled to open in March and is now accepting reservations.

How To Book Kimpton Ashbel New York-Park Avenue

The Kimpton Ashbel New York-Park Avenue will open as an IHG hotel in January; however, reservations are now available.

You can find cash rates as low as $189 per night, which is a fantastic deal for Midtown Manhattan. However, you may want to redeem IHG One Rewards points, as we’re seeing award nights available for as few as 26,000 points per night.

Final Thoughts

Finding a reasonably priced luxury hotel in New York is a gamble. Fortunately, though, IHG is opening the Kimpton Ashbel New York-Park Avenue next month. The hotel is centrally located to numerous attractions, and it’s a great value with both cash and IHG One Rewards points.
