A new IHG property is coming to Thailand later this decade.
Let’s take a look!
Pattaya Is Located Just an Hour’s Drive From Bangkok
IHG announced on March 21 that it had signed an agreement for a Kimpton hotel in Pattaya, a beach destination located on Thailand’s eastern Gulf coast.
Not much is known about the Kimpton Pattaya just yet, though it will have nearly 200 rooms and suites. It will be centrally located for travelers flying into Pattaya, as well as nearby Bangkok. The hotel will be a 30-minute drive to U-Tapao Rayong Pattaya International Airport (UTP) and 60 minutes from Suvarnabhumi International Airport (BKK).
The hotel will feature 4 restaurants and bars, nearly 7,000 square feet of meeting and event space, a fitness center, a spa, and a pool.
The Kimpton Pattaya is scheduled to open for guests at the beginning of 2028.
IHG says this marks the fifth Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants property signed in Thailand — joining the already-opened Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok and Kimpton Kitalay Samui and the upcoming Kimpton Khao Yai and Kimpton Hua Hin.
“I’m delighted that Kimpton Pattaya is joining Vignette Collection Pattaya — also situated in Aquatique Pattaya — and 1 open hotels – InterContinental Pattaya and Holiday Inn Pattaya – in the district, establishing IHG as a market leader in Pattaya,” Rajit Sukumaran, Managing Director, South East Asia and Korea at IHG said.
IHG is bolstering its presence in Thailand and across Asia. The brand has several high-end properties open or under development in Thailand, including the InterContinental Chiang Mai Mae Ping, which opens this year, the InterContinental Bangkok Chinatown, Vignette Collection Bangkok Chinatown, the Vignette Collection Pattaya, and Kimpton Hua Hin.
Additionally, Kimpton — one of IHG’s most recognizable brands — is increasing its presence in desired markets. IHG says 41 Kimpton hotels are in the pipeline in destinations such as Bali and Mexico City.
As Kimpton is part of the IHG One Rewards program, it participates in its loyalty program. While the Kimpton Pattaya isn’t open yet, you can earn points for a stay at IHG’s other properties in the region.
IHG offers 2 personal and 1 business credit card, all of which are issued by Chase. You can also transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards or Bilt Rewards points to IHG One Rewards at a 1:1 ratio.
