A new hotel brand is always exciting news — especially one where you can redeem points for free stays. Marriott has announced the opening of the first StudioRes hotel, a new extended-stay brand, in Fort Myers, Florida.

“We designed StudioRes to provide terrific value for customers with an innovative room design and highly efficient operating model for long-term stays,” said Marriott’s Chief Financial Officer Leeny Oberg.

Here’s what you need to know about the new StudioRes brand from Marriott.

40+ More StudioRes Hotels in the Pipeline

StudioRes Fort Myers offers 124 “studio-style” guest rooms. All feature a lounging area and a kitchen with a stovetop, microwave, and full-sized refrigerator.

As a brand focused on longer stays, you’ll find amenities that rival the comforts of home, such as communal spaces, outdoor patios, weekly housekeeping, fitness centers, Wi-Fi, streaming access, and pet-friendly accommodations.

Marriott announced the StudioRes brand back in 2023. The midscale extended-stay brand will be concentrated in the U.S. and Canada.

And it’s a fast-growing brand. While Fort Myers is the first property to open, Marriott says 40 hotels across the U.S. and Canada are expected to open by the end of 2027.

As we recently reported, StudioRes reservations will earn significantly fewer points and benefits than Marriott’s other extended-stay brands. You’ll earn 4x Marriott Bonvoy points per $1 spent on StudioRes stays. (In contrast, Marriott’s other extended-stay brands, like Apartments by Marriott and Sonder by Marriott, earn 5x points.)

Additionally, you won’t get any elite night credits toward Marriott status for staying at StudioRes properties.

Booking StudioRes Fort Myers

StudioRes Fort Myers is now open for guests. It participates in the Marriott Bonvoy program, allowing you to earn and redeem points here.

Like other extended-stay hotels, this one is incredibly affordable with cash or points. That means you’ll get more value for your money, especially if you book a longer stay. You’ll find cash rates starting at around $100 per night and awards starting at 16,500 points per night, and you can save more points with the fifth night free.

Hot Tip:

Running low on points? You have several options, like transferring American Express Membership RewardsBilt Rewards, and Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Marriott at a 1:1 ratio. Additionally, you can open a Marriott Bonvoy credit card, which comes with a fabulous welcome bonus and elite status.

Final Thoughts

Marriott has opened its first StudioRes property in Fort Myers, Florida, as it grows its extended-stay presence. While StudioRes isn’t fancy, it offers affordable extended-stay lodging, whether you’re paying cash or using points, along with amenities such as full kitchens and communal spaces.
