MGM Rewards is rolling out new benefits for members, including an increasingly common perk in loyalty programs: Milestone Rewards.

MGM Rewards has added perks for members that they can enjoy even if they don’t reach the next status tier, and the program is also beefing up its benefits on cruises. Plus, for a limited time, members can save 5% on gift card purchases — a promotion that coincides with the launch of new benefits for members.

What are the new perks? Let’s take a look.

New MGM Rewards Benefits

MGM Rewards has updated its member benefits in several ways. Gold members now have access to the annual cruise benefit and Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite status, for example, while members with Pearl status and above can enjoy rollover tier credits to help them earn status next year.

MGM Milestone Rewards

Members can now earn Milestone Rewards in between tier status levels, and also can roll over tier credits for next year.

After earning 50,000 Tier Credits, members can roll 7,500 credits into the next year. After earning 125,000 Tier Credits, members can roll over 17,500 credits into the following year.

Additionally, the Tier Celebration Credit is improving, offering experience credits toward hotel, dining, spa, or entertainment expenses.

This improved credit offers up to $100 for Gold members, up to $200 for Platinum members, and up to $500 for Noir members. Additionally, Platinum members get up to $600 in air travel credits to fly to Las Vegas, Beau Rivage, or Borgata; this credit covers up to $1,200 in air travel for Noir members.

Cruise Benefits

When cruising with Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises, MGM Rewards Platinum and Noir members have greater access to upgraded rooms, more itineraries, and longer vacation options available in their annual cruise benefit. Plus, Gold members now have an annual cruise benefit.

All MGM Rewards members now receive casino free play benefits, based on their status tier. To enjoy this perk, you must sail on an MGM Rewards loyalty offer, certificate offer, or group cruise.

Gift Cards

MGM Rewards has launched eGift cards that can be used at the program’s 20 destinations, including Bellagio, Aria, Borgata, Beau Rivage, and more.

The eGift cards can be used for hotel stays and on-property expenses in restaurants, bars, spas, and retail outlets.

Marriott Bonvoy Benefits

Through the MGM Rewards-Marriott Bonvoy partnership, Pearl members now have a complimentary status match to Bonvoy’s lowest status tier, Silver Elite. MGM’s Gold members now match to mid-tier Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite. There’s no change for Platinum and Noir members when matching to Bonvoy elite status.

Members also can transfer points between MGM Rewards and Marriott Bonvoy, though it’s not usually a good idea to do so.

Final Thoughts

MGM Rewards has introduced several new benefits for members, improving upon existing perks in multiple areas. These benefits cover hotel stays, casino games, and cruises. Luckily, these new perks haven’t come paired with negatives, such as an increase in fees or making elite status tiers more difficult to earn.
