The low-cost carrier Frontier Airlines announced on August 27 that it would launch 11 new routes in 15 cities this fall, just in time for the holiday travel season.

Here’s what you need to know.

New Frontier Routes

Frontier Airlines is launching a handful of routes across the U.S. that should appeal to a broad range of travelers. The airline’s new routes include service from Atlanta (ATL) to Newark (EWR) and Washington, D.C. (IAD) and New York (JFK) to Orlando (MCO). Some routes, like Atlanta-Washington, will operate daily, while others will operate less frequently.

The new routes are scheduled to begin as early as October 11, 2024, and will continue to roll out through mid-fall as the holiday travel season begins.

“As consumers look ahead to the fall and winter months and make their holiday plans, we are thrilled to once again expand our roster of convenient and affordable travel options. From warm weather destinations such as Southern California, Texas, and Florida or winter sports meccas Utah and Colorado, to popular metropolitan areas like New York, Atlanta and Washington, D.C., there are now even more exciting destinations to choose from when flying Frontier.”

Josh Flyr, vice president of network and operations design, Frontier Airlines

Here are the new routes and their initial frequency:

Bottom Line:

Full-service carriers like Delta Air Lines and United Airlines already fly many of these routes. Frontier’s addition to these markets will provide much-needed competition and potentially offer cheaper flights than the full-service airlines.

How To Book

Frontier is offering a promo sale to celebrate the new routes, with flights starting at just $19 each way. You must book your ticket by September 2 for travel between October 11, 2024, and February 28, 2025. Keep in mind that several blackout dates are in effect. Additionally, Frontier is a low-cost airline, so you’ll pay extra for services like checked bags and seat selection.

Final Thoughts

Frontier is adding flights to more than a dozen airports across the U.S., which is excellent news for travelers. Even better, flights start at just $19 each way, including on some extremely popular routes. If you’re interested in checking out these routes, make sure to book by September 4.
