Business class is about to get even more comfortable on many American Airlines flights. Starting this weekend, the carrier will reintroduce pajamas for business class passengers on wide-body flights from select hubs.

Let’s take a look at this exciting development!

American Brings Back Pajamas in Business Class

A beloved business-class amenity is returning to some American Airlines flights. We knew that American would reintroduce pajamas on some flights operated by wide-body aircraft, but now the airline has said that passengers will see them beginning this weekend.

Business-class passengers will find pajamas available on wide-body flights departing from Dallas Fort Worth (DFW), Los Angeles (LAX), New York (JFK), and Philadelphia (PHL) and bound for East Asia, the Middle East, India, Australia, and New Zealand — some of the carrier’s longest routes.

The Nest-branded unisex pajamas will be offered in sizes S/M and L/XL so everyone can find a set that fits comfortably. American also said in a statement that it will reintroduce mattress pads “later this summer,” which is more good news for premium passengers with the Texas-based carrier.

This development comes as American Airlines works to revamp its entire premium experience. It’s introduced a brand-new variant of the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner with Flagship Suites in the premium cabin and is rolling out new amenities to those lucky passengers.

The so-called Boeing 787-9P is already flying several routes, including Chicago O’Hare (ORD) to London Heathrow (LHR) and from Dallas to both Brisbane (BNE) and Auckland, New Zealand (AKL). Soon, it will be deployed on the routes between Dallas and Buenos Aires-Ezeiza (EZE) and London Heathrow.

Additionally, the airline has opened a new Flagship Lounge at its Philadelphia hub, which is further evidence that the carrier is serious about upping its game in the premium market, which has seen competitors Delta Air Lines and United Airlines also making significant investments.

Hot Tip:

Want to fly American’s newest and best aircraft? Look for the designation “78P” when you select your flight on aa.com.

Final Thoughts

American Airlines continues to improve the premium experience for passengers with the imminent reintroduction of pajamas in business class on some flights. Plus, mattress pads are returning in short order.

These amenities are just a couple of examples of the ways that American is rapidly improving the customer experience — especially for its all-important premium passengers. We look forward to seeing what else the carrier has in store in the near future. It seems like things could get even more comfortable.
