PayPal has offered “PayPal credit,” a digital line of credit that can be used to make online purchases anywhere PayPal is accepted, for quite some time.

Now, however, the payment platform has rolled out a new physical credit card that allows you to use your online PayPal line of credit at any merchant that accepts Mastercard products. If you apply for it, you’ll also receive a special offer for travel purchases.

Let’s take a look at the details!

PayPal’s New Physical Card

The new PayPal Credit Card is issued by Synchrony Bank on the Mastercard payment platform, meaning it can be used both online and in any physical retailer that accepts Mastercard.

“PayPal Credit is one of our most popular products and customers have long been requesting the ability to use it on-the-go as they look for more choice and flexibility wherever they shop,” said Scott Young, SVP, global head of consumer financial services at PayPal. “From our buy now pay later options to our credit cards, we continue to bring customers a range of solutions to help them manage cash flow and pay in the ways that suits their budgets for the things they love and need.”

To celebrate the launch of the new product, there’s a limited-time offer for travel purchases: Pay no interest on travel purchases made online or anywhere Mastercard is accepted until January 31, 2026, with no minimum spend required, if paid in full within 6 months.

Note that a minimum monthly payment must be made each month, and interest will be charged to your account at the APR specified in your application if the qualifying purchases are not paid in full in the 6-month period.

PayPal’s terms say that “travel purchases” are designated by the merchant category code, not by PayPal or Synchrony Bank. But it does mention flights, hotels, cruises, and ride-shares as examples of travel purchases, so you can expect the travel category to be similar to what you’re accustomed to with other major issuers.

Plus, cardholders can take advantage of zero-interest financing for 6 months on any purchase of at least $149 made online with PayPal.

The PayPal Credit Card does not have an annual fee and “will be rolling out in the coming weeks to US customers.”

Hot Tip:

There are a couple of additional PayPal-branded credit cards available. You can learn about the features, benefits, and differences of both options in our PayPal credit card guide.

Final Thoughts

The new PayPal Credit Card will allow customers to use their existing PayPal credit line at any physical store that accepts Mastercard.

If you use PayPal often for online purchases, this could be a good option for gaining more versatility from the platform. A limited-time offer for no-interest financing on travel purchases for 6 months makes it even more appealing.
