Radisson announced on July 8 that it had opened a new hotel in the heart of Tunis, Tunisia.

Let’s take a look at this new property in the North African capital and how to book it.

Radisson Continues To Grow in Africa

Radisson Hotel Tunis City Center has 97 guest rooms and suites, ranging from standard rooms to spacious suites.

Amenities include an all-day restaurant, a rooftop bar, a fitness center, meeting and event spaces, and laundry services.

The hotel is just a 14-minute drive from the city’s main airport, Tunis Carthage International Airport (TUN). Several mosques are near the hotel, as well as Tunis’ famed shopping center, La Medina.

“We are thrilled to expand our presence in northern Africa and establish a foothold in Tunisia’s capital city, Tunis, with our Radisson brand,” said Tim Cordon, Chief Operating Officer of Middle East, Africa, and SEAP. “The rapid expansion of our Radisson brand is a clear indication of the growing demand for a brand that prioritizes guests’ comfort and enables them to find more harmony in their travel experience.”

Bottom Line:

Radisson is rapidly expanding its presence across the African continent. The hotel chain recently announced 7 new hotels comprising more than 1,200 rooms in Ethiopia, Morocco, Nigeria, and Tunisia.

Booking Radisson Hotel Tunis City Center

Radisson Hotel Tunis City Center is now open for guests. Like many hotels in the region, rates here are pretty affordable. For instance, you’ll find 1-night stays at around $150 per night (you can add breakfast for an extra $20 per night).

If you aren’t familiar, Radisson has 1 of the world’s largest footprints, with brands such as Radisson Blu and Park Plaza under its portfolio.

Radisson Rewards covers Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific and has over 1,600 open hotels. (Radisson Rewards America, the U.S. version, was acquired by Choice Privileges last year. All former U.S. Radisson hotels are now bookable with Choice Privileges points).

One of the most straightforward rewards programs, the Radisson Rewards program has just elite status tiers: Club (upon enrollment), Premium (5 elite nights or 3 stays), and VIP (30 elite nights or 20 stays).

Final Thoughts

Radisson clearly sees Africa as a key market, judging by its opening of the Radisson Hotel Tunis City Center and a few other recently announced properties. The Radisson Tunis City Center isn’t the fanciest, but it’s in a prime location near shopping and the airport and will likely be popular with business travelers. We look forward to more growth from Radisson across Africa!
