Delta Air Lines is opening a second Sky Club at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA), reinforcing its ongoing investment in this major Pacific Northwest hub.

The space measures nearly 14,000 square feet and is much more intimate (and measuring about half the size) than its main location. Ahead of the official opening on Wednesday, June 25, Upgraded Points was invited for a special media preview and got a first look at the newest Delta Sky Club.

What makes this opening particularly noteworthy is that it coincides with the debut of the Delta One Lounge in Seattle, which overlooks this new Sky Club. Here’s a look inside the main lounge, which is accessible to more than just premium passengers.

Where Is the New Delta Sky Club at SEA?

This brand-new Delta Sky Club is located at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) in Concourse A near gate A11.

“With our emphasis on a premium product, it was time to deliver a second Delta Sky Club to our travelers,” said Tim Genovese, director of Sky Club operations, in an exclusive interview with Upgraded Points. “We continue to invest in the experience of our travelers with this state-of-the-art lounge in Seattle.”

New Delta Sky Club SEA Business Center
Delta continues to invest in its premium product.

This new Delta Sky Club will open daily from 5 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., while the flagship Delta Sky Club in Seattle —- also located in Concourse A near gate A1 — is open from 4:15 a.m. to 11:15 p.m.

With the new Delta One Lounge (officially opening on Wednesday, June 25, at 11 a.m. PT), Seattle-based travelers can hopefully expect some relief from overcrowding as the airline continues to expand its presence at the airport.

Hot Tip:

There are now 57 Delta Sky Clubs to date, and many of the airline’s hubs boast multiple locations. Read all about the Delta Sky Club network and how you can enter with you and your guests.

What To Expect at Seattle’s Second Delta Sky Club

What makes this Delta Sky Club especially unique is its shared space with the Delta One Lounge, which is located just above it on the fourth floor, while the Sky Club sits on the third.

Delta Sky Club One Lounge SEA Check In
Welcome to the new Delta Sky Club (and Delta One Lounge).

It’s the first-ever dual-level atrium lounge of its kind, according to Genovese, with signage displaying the 2 together.

Design

From the moment you walk into the lounge, you’ll notice lush emerald and navy tones paired with warm wood accents that reflect the natural beauty of Seattle, also known as the Emerald City.

New Delta Sky Club SEA Mixed Seating
Thoughtful design elements.

Oversized windows flood the space with natural light and offer expansive views of the airport, further enhancing the airy, Pacific Northwest vibe.

New Delta Sky Club SEA Views
Natural light fills the space.

Entrance

At the lounge’s front entrance, you’ll be met by Delta employees who will scan your same-day boarding pass on kiosks to verify whether you can enter the Delta Sky Club (or the more exclusive Delta One Lounge).

There are elevators and stairs, but if you choose the latter, know that you’ll need to take 3 flights to reach the Sky Club.

New Delta Sky Club SEA Stairs
You’ll probably want to take the elevator if you have luggage in tow.

The flight departures board is available immediately to the right upon entering the lounge.

The lounge entrance offers a “lounge within a lounge” concept, complete with cozy sofas designed for relaxing.

New Delta Sky Club SEA Check In Lounge
Comfort beckons.

You’ll also find the concierge desk, which is, in my opinion, one of the best perks of having access to Delta Sky Clubs. If you run into any travel snafus, you can immediately contact a staff member for rebooking assistance without having to leave the lounge.

New Delta Sky Club SEA Help Desk
Helpful concierge desk.

Seating

The Delta Sky Club features an open-concept, mixed-use dining room and lounging area for up to 183 travelers.

New Delta Sky Club SEA Seats
Welcome to the new Delta Sky Club in Seattle.

Whether you’re catching up on emails during a layover or looking to unwind with a full meal before your flight, the lounge offers a variety of seating options to suit your needs.

See the Delta One passengers above on the fourth floor.

I loved how many seats were available, from cozy armchairs to bistro-style dining tables.

Food and Beverages

The new Delta Sky Club features 3 separate buffet stations, and the menus will rotate seasonally, according to Genovese.

New Delta Sky Club SEA Cold Cuts Buffet
3 distinct buffet stations.

This first buffet featured a charcuterie board of sorts, a hummus and pita platter, and fresh fruit during the opening event.

New Delta Sky Club SEA Charcuterie
Cold cuts galore.

The second buffet station featured a variety of wraps and sandwiches, which are easier to take on the go.

New Delta Sky Club SEA Pretzel Bun
These pretzel-bun sandwiches were tasty.

Be sure to arrive with an appetite, as the main buffet counter in the back will serve up hearty entrées and desserts, including the renowned Ivar’s clam chowder.

New Delta Sky Club SEA Soup Dessert
You’ll find hot entrees in the back.

There’s a main beverage station that houses a Coca-Cola soda dispenser, a Starbucks espresso machine, hot water for tea, and more.

New Delta Sky Club SEA Beverage Station
Beverage station.

The expansive bar on the back wall features complimentary wines, beer, and liquors.

Check out this bar!

However, you can also use cash or SkyMiles to purchase premium wines, beers, and cocktails.

Amenities

Near the entrance, you’ll find a virtual queue system for the showers and concierge services, allowing guests to join the list easily using a self-serve kiosk. A complimentary printer is also available — a standard amenity across Delta Sky Clubs — though this is usually found in the lounge’s “business center.”

New Delta Sky Club SEA Printer
Printer and virtual queue.

Speaking of the business center, there wasn’t a designated space for one at this new Sky Club. It was slightly disappointing to find there weren’t any soundproof working booths like you’ll typically find in newer Sky Clubs.

That said, it seems Delta may be moving away from the arguably dated concept of individual workstations and replacing it with communal tables that can serve as coworking spaces for business travelers.

New Delta Sky Club SEA Business Table
There wasn’t a dedicated business center.

Thankfully, no matter where you sit, there are plenty of AC power outlets, along with USB-A and USB-C ports.

Delta Sky Club SEA Power Outlet
Plenty of outlets.

There were a couple of small TVs in the dining area near the buffet (the other one was positioned just behind it).

New Delta Sky Club SEA TV
Great place to catch a game.

This Delta Sky Club offers restrooms for men, women, and families.

New Delta Sky Club SEA Restrooms
Enter the lounge and turn right to find the restrooms.

The bathroom doors are operated by hand-activated sensors. Inside, you’ll find plenty of sinks and 6 stalls, each enclosed with floor-to-ceiling walls and solid, heavy doors for maximum privacy.

New Delta Sky Club SEA Sinks
Modern and spacious restrooms, with Grown Alchemist amenities.

Surprisingly, this Delta Sky Club has only 2 shower suites. These are shared with Delta One passengers upstairs, so they will likely be a hot commodity for travelers looking to freshen up.

New Delta Sky Club SEA Shower Room One
Well-appointed shower rooms, though it’s disappointing that there are only 2 of them.

You’ll have to book a shower room on the aforementioned kiosk, but if you do snag one, you’ll find Grown Alchemist shower products, bathrobes, towels, and more. You can also request additional items, such as a shaving kit.

New Delta Sky Club SEA Shower Products
Freshen up with a shower.

Comparable lounges of this size typically offer 5 to 10 shower suites, so I asked Genovese why this lounge has so few shower suites.

New Delta Sky Club SEA Wheelchair Accessible Shower
The second shower suite is wheelchair accessible.

“With our Delta Sky Club at Seattle, we are placing a huge emphasis on the food and beverage program, so we needed to make room for that,” he responded.

How To Access Delta Sky Clubs

You can enter the newest Delta Sky Club in Seattle, as well as 50+ other locations, by purchasing a membership, flying on a Delta One ticket, or traveling internationally as a SkyTeam Elite Plus member.

However, the easier (and more inexpensive) way to gain access is by carrying one of the following cards:

Cardholders can access Delta Sky Clubs when flying on a same-day Delta-operated or Delta-marketed flight. To go beyond standard access limits, you’ll need to spend $75,000 on your card within a calendar year.

Delta SkyMiles Frequent Flyer Program

Wondering what counts as a visit? Access is measured by travel day, not by the number of lounge entries. That means you can visit multiple Sky Clubs in a single day while on a connecting itinerary. For instance, if you’re flying from Seattle (SEA) to Minneapolis (MSP) and then connecting to Chicago (ORD), you can technically stop by the Sky Club at all 3 airports, and that will only count as 1 visit!

Hot Tip:

Don’t forget that Delta Sky Club access isn’t limited to departures. You can also enjoy the lounge after you land, which is perfect if you want to freshen up with a shower or grab a bite from the complimentary buffet before heading out of the airport.

Final Thoughts

This new Delta Sky Club raises the bar, and Seattle-based travelers have a lot to get excited about. With the capacity to seat nearly 200 travelers and the new Delta One Lounge upstairs, this should ease some overcrowding issues and allow for a more enjoyable experience for all flyers.
