Singapore Airlines has started renovations of its more dated lounges at its base at Singapore Changi Airport (SIN).

The $45-million-dollar overhaul of the carrier’s SilverKris business/first lounges and KrisFlyer Gold lounges in Terminal 2 is expected to be complete by the end of Q2 in 2027.

“Building on the success of our Terminal 3 lounges, we are extending our signature hospitality and thoughtfully curated offerings to Terminal 2,” said Yeoh Phee Teik, senior vice president of customer experience at Singapore Airlines.

Here’s what Singapore Airlines has in store.

Singapore Airlines Refreshed Terminal 2 Lounges

If you’ve ever flown Singapore Airlines from Singapore‘s Changi Terminal 3 as a premium passenger, then you probably enjoyed an amazing on-the-ground experience.

The airline now wants to replicate this experience in Terminal 2 by completely renovating its first and business SilverKris lounges as well as the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge.

Sadly, Singapore Airlines won’t be blessing T2 with a version of T3’s esteemed The Private Room, a space exclusive for first-class travelers.

It’s worth noting that you’re not restricted to use the lounges in the Terminal you’re departing from. There’s a transit train that connects Terminals 2 and 3, so you can enjoy the newer lounges in Terminal 3 before the renovated lounges open in Terminal 2.

Moreover, this means passengers will be able to use the lounge equivalents in Terminal 3 while the Terminal 2 lounges are being renovated.

Hot Tip:

Singapore Airlines flights to the following countries operate from Terminal 2: Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan (Except flight SQ12, which continues to Los Angeles LAX), Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Philippines, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Changi Terminal 2’s New First Class SilverKris Lounge

The new First Class SilverKris Lounge promises to be more spacious than the current T2 version. It will have higher ceilings and full-height windows to amplify the sense of space.

The centerpiece will be a full-service bar that will offer barista coffee during the morning hours.

Passengers can opt to have meals cooked by a chef in front of their eyes, including a varied selection of Singaporean, Asian, and Western dishes. This will be in addition to a self-service buffet.

Singapore Airlines expects the renovations in this lounge to be complete by the end of 2025.

Changi Terminal 2’s New Business Class SilverKris Lounge

Once complete, the new Business Class SilverKris Lounge is expected to be 30% larger than the current version.

A focal point in its design was the introduction of more dedicated seating areas, including a quiet zone with recliners for relaxing.

The Asian and Western buffet service will be expanded, and a full-service bar offering morning coffee and evening cocktails will be introduced.

Work on the renovation is expected to start toward the end of 2025. A completion date has yet to be revealed.

Changi Terminal 2’s New KrisFlyer Gold Lounge

The KrisFlyer Gold Lounge will see the biggest change in size from its renovation, doubling its current capacity.

As well as new dedicated seating areas for dining, relaxing, or working, the lounge will now boast shower suites, giving passengers a more premium experience.

Work on the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge isn’t planned to start until the first half of 2026.

Final Thoughts

It’s great to see Singapore Airlines working to offer the same standard of luxury in its lounges in both terminals 2 and 3 at Changi.

We’re looking forward to the reopening of the SilverKris First Class Lounge, which should be by the end of the year. It will be the first of the renovations to be completed.
