Under the SIXT ONE program, members earn 2 separate kinds of points: status points and rental points. It’s actually quite simple:

You earn 1 point per €1 (about $1.15) spent on qualifying rentals, excluding taxes, fees, and mandatory charges. Because SIXT is a European company, all points are calculated in euros and credited to your account in that currency.

If you prefer, you can also earn airline miles or hotel points instead of SIXT rental points by linking your preferred loyalty program through your SIXT account. SIXT has dozens of travel partners, including Delta SkyMiles, Emirates Skywards, and Avianca LifeMiles, allowing you to earn miles or points toward flights and hotel stays instead of car rentals.

Importantly, no matter which option you choose, you still earn status points toward elite tiers. However, rentals booked through third-party platforms like Expedia or Priceline don’t qualify for SIXT ONE points or elite status credits, so book directly through SIXT.com or the SIXT app to receive rewards.

How To Redeem Points

SIXT ONE makes it easy to use your rental points for future bookings. Once you’ve logged in to your account, select your vehicle and any extras, then apply your points on the Review Your Booking page before checkout.

You can redeem points for up to a 7-day rental, and the number of points required is dynamic, meaning it depends on factors like vehicle type, location, and demand. That said, you don’t need to have enough points to cover the full cost of a booking. SIXT allows you to use a mix of cash and points, letting you reduce your out-of-pocket costs while still earning status points on the paid portion.

It’s worth noting that you still need to pay any applicable taxes, fees, surcharges, or protection add-ons out of pocket, even when redeeming points to cover the rental.

Points Expiration Policy

Unlike with loyalty programs that let points sit indefinitely, SIXT ONE rental points expire after 24 months if unused. The clock starts from the date the points were credited to your account, not when you earned your last rental.
