Sun Country Airlines has announced an exciting new route to its network, which will launch this fall.

Here’s what you need to know.

Only Nonstop Flights Between Minnesota and New Hampshire

Sun Country will begin nonstop flights between Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) and Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT) beginning August 22, 2024.

The airline will fly its Boeing 737-800s on the 1x weekly route.

This is the sixth airline to fly out of MHT, but Sun Country will offer the only nonstop service between Minnesota and New Hampshire. Travelers flying between the 2 states have historically needed to connect via Newark (EWR) or Washington (DCA) or fly from Boston (BOS).

Flights are now bookable directly through Sun Country’s website, Google Flights, and online travel agencies (OTA) such as Expedia. Round-trip tickets for this route start at $178 this August.

“Today’s announcement by Sun Country Airlines is a huge win for Manchester-Boston Regional Airport,” said Airport Director Ted Kitchens. Kitchens went on to say that MSP-MHT is a “highly requested route.”

Manchester-Boston Regional Airport is a small airport in New Hampshire located 50 miles north of Boston, giving travelers from that city cheaper flight options. American Airlines, Avelo, Southwest, Spirit, and United currently serve Manchester.

Sun Country Airlines is based out of Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP) and was founded in 1982. It serves more than 100 routes in the U.S., Mexico, Central America, Canada, and the Caribbean. The airline primarily focuses on serving leisure and charter customers. Last fall, the airline launched several new domestic and international routes.

Sun Country is a low-cost airline, though it differs from budget carriers Frontier and Spirit, as it offers water, coffee, tea, and soft drinks free of charge.

However, the airline still charges hefty fees for ancillary purchases such as seat selection, priority check-in and boarding, and baggage. While you are allotted 1 personal item, carry-on bags range from $30 to $50, depending on when you add the service to your reservation. Checked bags can be even pricier — as much as $60 per bag!
