Many travel companies offer subscription-based memberships for customers who use their services often, and Uber is no exception.
The ride-hailing app launched Uber One — which replaced Eats Pass — last year. And now, 2 companies are offering significant discounts on the membership price.
Let’s take a look at the details.
What Is Uber One?
If you aren’t familiar with Uber One, it’s a subscription service where you pay in advance for many benefits throughout the term of your membership. These perks include:
5% off all eligible rides
5% off eligible delivery orders on food, grocery, alcohol, and more
Unlimited $0 delivery fee on $15+ orders and $30+ grocery orders
Priority service with top-rated drivers on rides and elevated member support
$5 in Uber Cash on eligible deliveries if the Latest Arrival estimate (shown after an order is placed) is wrong
Exclusive access to perks like special offers and promotions and invite-only experiences
5 Free Months of Uber One When You Pay for 1 Month With PayPal
Note that this promo is only valid for first-time subscribers. A maximum of 500,000 customers can sign up, and the offer expires on June 30, 2022. If this offer appeals to you, don’t wait to sign up!
Upon enrolling, your PayPal account will be charged $1.66, and then again each month for the next 6 months. An Uber One membership typically costs $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year — if you don’t want to pay those prices for the service, you must cancel within 48 hours of the promotional period ending.
2 Free Months of Uber One With Citi Merchant Offers
Citi is offering a promotion for eligible cardholders via Citi Merchant Offers that will credit cardholders $9.99 when they enroll in Uber One with an eligible Citi card. This offer is good up to 2 times during the promotional period, which is about 45 days, meaning you can essentially get 2 free months of Uber One if you’re eligible for the offer.
Citi is known to offer this promotion with some frequency, and you can stack it with any Uber credits you receive from a variety of American Express-issued cards.
If you don’t have a great need for Uber One and simply would like to give the service a try, there’s no reason not to take advantage of this offer from Citi — if you’re eligible, of course.
These are 2 solid offers, especially if you find Uber One to be useful to you. Considering a full-year membership is about $100, getting a half-year membership for just about $10 — or 2 full months free — is a great deal.
Even if you’ve been curious about the program but have yet to sign up, this would be a great way to trial the service without committing long-term.
Remember, though, that the PayPal offer is capacity-controlled and only valid for a limited time, so don’t wait too long to sign up!
