Some big news out of the Middle East today: IHG will open a whopping 80+-story tower in the Dubai Marina next year.

Let’s take a look at the details behind this new Dubai hotel.

The Tallest Tower Hotel Will Open in 2025

IHG has announced plans for Ciel, Vignette Collection, the world’s tallest all-hotel tower. The hotel will be over 80 stories tall and have 1,000 guest rooms and suites. For such a massive hotel, there will be just 3 restaurants. However, it will be home to the highest infinity pool in Dubai and will boast a fitness center, a spa, a club lounge, and an observation lounge.

The hotel is expected to open in the Dubai Marina in 2025, though IHG didn’t list an exact opening date.

“Today, in signing what will on completion be the world’s tallest all-hotel tower, is testament to our expanding luxury and lifestyle portfolio in the Middle East, and our commitment to offer our guests something truly special,” said Haitham Mattar, India, Middle East & Africa managing director.

Vignette Collection launched in December 2021 and has quickly established itself as one of IHG’s premium brands. Vignette Collection is a collection of one-of-a-kind, independent hotels in popular cities like Bangkok and Washington, D.C. IHG has big plans for the Vignette Collection: more than 100 hotels will join the brand over the next 10 years.

IHG’s Dubai Hotels

Like other major hotel chains, IHG has a significant presence in Dubai, with over 2 dozen hotels across the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The Middle East is a prominent sweet spot for hotel bookings. That’s because prices — whether you’re paying cash or using points — are typically lower than what you’d pay in other destinations. This is true even for luxury brands like the InterContinental and Hotel Indigo.

For instance, rates at the 5-star InterContinental Dubai Marina start at just $200 per night for dates next May. That’s a pretty good deal. However, the better deal is to use IHG One Rewards points. In this case, award stays start at just 25,000 points per night — a fantastic redemption for 1 of the best hotels in Dubai.

Hot Tip:

Earning IHG One Rewards points is relatively simple, even if you don’t frequent the chain. Transferring Bilt Rewards and Chase Ultimate Rewards points is the easiest, as these points transfer at a 1:1 ratio. Other ways to earn points include opening an IHG credit card or hosting a meeting.

Final Thoughts

While Dubai has no shortage of ultra-luxe hotels, IHG’s plan to open the largest all-hotel tower in the world is undoubtedly newsworthy. It will likely be a flagship hotel for the Vignette Collection brand as it expands its portfolio. Unfortunately, we don’t have too many details about the hotel, but we’ll certainly keep an eye on this one in 2025!
