IHG is boosting its presence in the Middle East with an exciting new signing in Egypt.

Here’s what you need to know.

Voco North Coast Opens in December 2026

IHG announced on June 7, 2023, that it had signed an agreement for a new hotel in Egypt, the voco North Coast.

The 300-room beachfront resort will feature low-rise buildings, chalets, and townhouses with views of the Mediterranean Sea. Amenities include a swimming pool, a spa, a health club, running and biking tracks, a shopping mall, a waterpark, and several dining options.

The upcoming voco North Coast will be located just 14 miles from El Alamein Airport (DBB). The hotel is scheduled to open for guests in December 2026.

“We are excited to bring the first voco resort in the region to the North Coast of Egypt,” said Haitham Mattar, Managing Director of India, Middle East & Africa at IHG.

“The voco brand is already popular across our existing locations in the Middle East, offering a premium experience to guests. We are confident that our first voco resort on the beautiful beachfront of the North Coast will be a preferred choice for travelers visiting the destination,” he continued.

Mattar pointed to Egypt’s burgeoning tourism sector as to why the chain signed a deal on the North Coast. Egypt welcomed nearly 5 million tourists in the first 6 months of 2022, he said, which emphasized the “importance of new build hotels and an increase in rooms.”

One of IHG’s newest brands, voco falls under the chain’s premium umbrella. While this marks voco’s first resort signing in the region, IHG has signed for other voco hotels in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.

Booking IHG Hotels in Egypt

If you’re interested in using your points, you’ll find several IHG hotels in Egypt across several brands, including InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, and Staybridge Suites.

For instance, rates at the InterContinental Cairo Semiramis start at 40,000 points per night for dates this October, while the Staybridge Suites Cairo Citystars starts at just 32,000 points per night.
