Walmart+ is giving members more flexibility in their entertainment options with an update to its video streaming benefits. Starting September 15, 2025, members can now pick between 2 popular streaming services as part of their subscription.

Since those with the Platinum Card® from American Express can receive a statement credit for a monthly Walmart+ membership (subject to auto-renewal), this change adds value by letting members decide which service best fits their viewing habits.

Here’s everything you need to know about this exciting development.

Walmart+ Video Streaming Choice: Paramount+ or Peacock

With the new Video Streaming Choice benefit, Walmart+ members can select either Paramount+ Essential or the recently added Peacock Premium. Starting September 15, 2025, members can select between either service and switch every 90 days, allowing them to tailor their viewing experience.

Since its launch in 2020, Walmart+ has expanded from 3 benefits to 12, while keeping the annual subscription at $98. In addition to streaming, members enjoy same-day grocery and pharmacy delivery, shipping with no minimum order, fuel discounts, and more. Also of note: members can take advantage of perks at Burger King, including a free Whopper every 3 months.

Members can choose between Paramount+ Essential, offering a wide range of movies, sports, and original series, or Peacock Premium, featuring live sports, blockbuster films, reality favorites, next-day network programming, and Spanish-language content.

“This additional option of Peacock Premium adds even more value and more choice to our membership, without raising the price,” said Deepak Maini, senior vice president of Walmart+.

Amex Platinum cardholders can receive up to a $155 Walmart+ statement credit annually when paying for their monthly Walmart+ membership with their card. They can receive a monthly statement credit for up to $12.95 plus applicable local sales tax (Plus Ups not eligible).

If you want both streaming services, you can now pick Paramount+ Essential via Walmart+ and then use Amex Platinum card’s digital entertainment credit for Peacock (enrollment required). Another option is through Chase cards that offer Instacart+ as a perk, since that membership already includes Peacock at no extra cost.

Hot Tip:

The Amex Platinum card isn’t the only American Express card offering a Walmart+ credit to cover the monthly subscription cost. This perk is also offered on the American Express® Business Gold Card, allowing you to receive up to a $12.95 statement credit back each month after you pay for a monthly Walmart+ membership (subject to auto-renewal) with your card, plus local sales tax.

Final Thoughts

The addition of Peacock alongside Paramount+ gives Walmart+ members more flexibility to manage their streaming options. Between live sports, original series, movies, and reality programming, subscribers can now adjust their viewing choices to match their interests. Best of all, if you already have an eligible Amex card with a Walmart+ credit, you can start enjoying the benefits right away.
