Wyndham is leaning further into the extended stay segment with an agreement for 5 residence-style hotels in the U.S.

Let’s look at this news and learn how you can book these new hotels with Wyndham points.

Wyndham Residences Debut in the U.S.

Wyndham has debuted the Wyndham Residence portfolio in the U.S. by partnering with the hospitality management company Reside. Wyndham says the new brand is catered to guests looking for “long-term, home-away-from-home units” and those looking for a home base for their trips. The brand caters to business travelers and tourists alike, and the rooms include amenities like full kitchens and storage spaces.

Several hotels in Houston, Seattle, and Washington are already open or under development in the U.S. The brand is already open abroad in Greece, Spain, and the United Arab Emirates.

Here are the open locations:

An additional 3 hotels are planned for New Orleans’ Bywater neighborhood and Washington, D.C.’s Barracks Row and NoMa neighborhoods. All 3 properties will feature rooms with full kitchens, gym access, and central locations.

Bottom Line:

Wyndham Residences is the newest extended-stay brand for Wyndham. It joins ECHO Suites, Hawthorn Suites, and WaterWalk Extended Stay by Wyndham.

How To Book Wyndham Residences

Both hotels are open and participating in Wyndham Rewards. That means they are available for cash or points bookings.

Rates at Reside Seattle Downtown start at $160 per night for dates this winter. Award stays will cost 30,000 Wyndham Rewards points per night. You’ll find rates at Reside Houston Downtown starting at $150 per night or 30,000 points per night.

Among the major loyalty programs, Wyndham has the simplest award chart. All hotels cost 7,500, 15,000, or 30,000 points per night. Wyndham points are not the easiest to earn. However, the chain has 2 transfer partners: Citi ThankYou Rewards and Capital One miles.

Final Thoughts

More U.S. hotel chains are investing more in extended-stay options, so this move from Wyndham, while not surprising, is good news for travelers. Whether for multigenerational travel, long-term stays, or group trips, extended-stay hotels offer travelers solid accommodations with the comforts of home.
