This may be one of the most inexpensive opportunities to purchase points we’ve ever seen at Upgraded Points — and it even comes with a sweet treat in tow.

To celebrate the 100-year anniversary of Route 66, Wyndham Rewards is releasing limited-edition candy boxes inspired by 6 stops along the historic highway. However, the sale offers something even more interesting for points-and-miles fans: each $19.26 candy box comes with 30,000 points.

Here’s what you need to know about this quirky promotion launching next month.

Wyndham’s Route 66 Sale

On Thursday, August 20, at 10 a.m. Eastern time, these limited-edition “Flavors of the Open Road” candy boxes will officially go on sale. Each box costs $19.26, including shipping, though sales tax will apply based on your location.

Inside each box, you’ll get 6 different candy flavors to try:

  • Chicago, Illinois: Deep-dish pizza
  • Tulsa, Oklahoma: Pecan pie
  • Amarillo, Texas: Smoked brisket
  • Albuquerque, New Mexico: Roasted green chile
  • Flagstaff, Arizona: Prickly pear soft serve
  • Kingman, Arizona: Root beer float

The real value comes from the fact that each candy box also includes 30,000 Wyndham Rewards points.

Upgraded Points values Wyndham Rewards points at 0.9 apiece when redeemed for hotel stays, making those points worth approximately $270. Considering that each box costs less than $20 before tax, this is a phenomenal return.

However, Wyndham is selling only 100 of these boxes on a first-come, first-served basis. Purchases are also limited to 1 box per household, and this promotion is only available to U.S. residents.

Bottom Line:

We can’t imagine this sale will last more than a few minutes, so if you’re interested in scoring 30,000 Wyndham points and unusual candy flavors for less than $20, be sure to mark your calendars now.

Redeeming 30,000 Wyndham Rewards Points

Starting September 15, 2026, Wyndham Rewards will move to a new fixed award chart with 4 redemption tiers: 5,000, 15,000, 30,000, and 45,000 points per night.

The higher tiers are reserved for more premium hotels and all-inclusive resorts, while brands like Days Inn and La Quinta fall under the lowest rates. That means 30,000 Wyndham Rewards points could cover 1 night at a higher-end property or up to 6 free nights at a budget hotel — all for $20.

Final Thoughts

Purchasing 30,000 Wyndham Rewards points for $19.26 (plus tax) works out to roughly 0.06 cents per point. That value is practically unheard of, considering Wyndham’s regular points sales typically price points at around 0.68 cents each — more than 10 times higher than this promotion.
