Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe Hotel & Casino: A Stylish Property With a Prime Location [Review]

I visited Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe Hotel & Casino with my husband in August 2026, shortly after the hotel’s transformation from the former Harveys Lake Tahoe. This casino hotel in Lake Tahoe features views of Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada mountains, a lively rooftop pool, gambling, live entertainment, and signature dining. Some of Lake Tahoe’s best activities were just minutes away.

Booking Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe

A weeknight stay at Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe in a king room with a view in the late summer is around $279 per night, including the $34 nightly resort fee. Nights in the fall cost about $150 and can reach $515 during peak winter holidays.

The property is bookable on AmexTravel.com, Capital One Travel, and Chase Travel. The hotel is part of the Caesars Rewards program, which partners with Wyndham Rewards. A night in a king room with a view costs 15,000 Wyndham Rewards points or 20,000 to 60,000 Caesars Rewards Credits per night.

Convenient Location

Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe is in Stateline, Nevada, on the border between Nevada and California. We were in California as soon as we walked across Stateline Avenue.

It’s in a great spot to explore Lake Tahoe, with Heavenly Village and ski resort, the Heavenly gondola, and Van Sickle Bi-State Park all within a 15-minute walk. Nearby resorts add to the number of dining and entertainment venues. A free Lake Link shuttle is available from Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe to Round Hill Pines Resort, which features beach access, paddleboarding, and kayaking.

The closest major airport is Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO), about a 1-hour drive away. The South Tahoe Airporter shuttle has a shuttle service that stops at Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe.

Our Guest Room Had a Lake and Mountain View

We stayed in a Romulus View Room with 1 king bed on the 18th floor above the treeline. It had a view of the lake and the Sierra Nevada mountains.

The bedroom was spacious, with an entry hallway, including a closet at the entrance, leading to the bathroom and then opening into the living space. It featured a king bed, 2 nightstands, and a corner window with a small dining table. At the foot of the bed were a TV and a dresser-desk unit with a minibar on top and a general-use minifridge in the cabinet.

The bathroom was long and had distinct functional areas, including a seated vanity at the entrance, sink and shelving, a shower, and a stand-up vanity at the back. The toilet was in a separate nook with a door.

The best thing about the room was the corner window, which had a view of the lake and mountains to the right and more of the village and Heavenly gondola to the left.

There Was So Much To Do

Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe has entertainment, recreation, and wellness within its walls — and a great location to take advantage of what the rest of Lake Tahoe has to offer.

The High Dive Pool + Lounge is a rooftop pool on the sixth floor. It was refreshing and cool during our late-summer visit, but it’s a year-round amenity with a heated pool, 3 large hot tubs, and a pool bar with an indoor-outdoor lounge and fireplace.

The pool and lounge are open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., with cabanas, daybeds, and loungers available for a fee. The locker rooms at the pool have steam and sauna rooms.

The hotel has a full casino floor with slots, table games, and a sportsbook. There’s a magic show, Tessie’s Cocktails & Chords music lounge with live performers each night, and an outdoor amphitheater where the hotel recently hosted a summer concert series. The hotel is connected to Harrah’s Lake Tahoe Hotel & Casino by a tunnel, with additional entertainment and dining, including a large arcade.

Wellness features at the hotel included a fitness center with updated equipment and the Reflections spa at Harrah’s.

Lake Tahoe Was Easily Accessible

The hotel’s location makes it easy to reach major Lake Tahoe attractions, including the Heavenly gondola, which took us up to an overlook where we took in views and continued up to the Tamarack Lodge area, where we hiked and rode the mountain coaster. It took us just minutes to get to boating on Lake Tahoe and hiking at Van Sickle Bi-State Park.

Most nearby attractions can be reached on foot. The walk to Heavenly Village and the gondola was about 5 minutes, and it took about 10 to get to the state park and Lakeside Beach. Our Lake Tahoe boat tour, starting at Lake Tahoe Beach Club, was less than 10 minutes away by car.

Hot Tip:

We cut through Harrah’s Lake Tahoe via the tunnel to get to Heavenly Village instead of walking outside and crossing at the Lake Tahoe Boulevard light.

Dining Was Decadent and Stylish

Food and beverages are a major feature at the hotel, with upscale dinners, casual daytime meals, and a cocktail bar with live entertainment. Dining includes:

• Cinnabon: Cinnamon rolls, snacks, and ice cream, open daily 6 a.m. to 2 a.m.
• Cleo’s Coffee and Cocktails: Casual coffee and counter-service pastries, sandwiches, and flatbreads, plus a full-service cocktail bar, open daily 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
• El Jefe’s Cantina Tahoe: Tacos, burritos, fajitas, and margaritas, open Thursday through Sunday, 4 to 9 p.m.
• Gordon Ramsay Hell’s Kitchen: Signature chef dishes, open daily 4 to 9:30 p.m. (10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays)
• Sage Room Steakhouse: Steakhouse dining with a view on the 19th floor, open Thursday through Monday, 5 to 9 p.m.
• Tessie’s Cocktails & Chords: Cocktail bar with nightly live music, open daily at 5 p.m. into late night
• Wolf by Vanderpump: Highly stylized dining, open daily 4 to 10 p.m. (10:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays)

Additional dining is available at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe, including Brew Brothers, Friday’s Station Steak & Seafood Grill, Sapori Italian Kitchen, and Starbucks.

Wolf by Vanderpump featured a stylish, heavily themed dining room with decadent bites. Some of our favorites were the fried goat cheese balls, lobster ceviche crisps, and the pan-roasted Chilean seabass. The extensive cocktail menu was worth visiting twice for, as we left wishing we could try more, but we enjoyed the smoked maple Manhattan and nitro espresso martini. The strawberry rosé crème brûlée tart was a standout, with an intense strawberry flavor balanced by creamy crème brûlée and a crisp, caramelized crust.

Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen was another distinctive dining experience, featuring an open kitchen, pitchfork lighting, and bar TVs that played clips from the “Hell’s Kitchen” reality TV show. It’s not a seafood restaurant, but the fish was done so well here that we ate almost nothing else: yuzu ponzu-dressed oysters, pan-seared scallops, butter-poached lobster risotto, and thick, flavorful skin-on salmon.

Sage Room Steakhouse offered dinner with tableside preparation and lake views. Servers brought the carts out for smoked cocktails and a dessert coffee en flambé. The Japanese A5 wagyu strip loin was rich and tender, and the truffled gnocchi mac and cheese with bacon lardons made it an indulgent meal.

Casual dining at the hotel includes Cleo’s in the lobby, poolside eats from the High Dive bar, and Caesars Eats to-go orders. Tessie’s Cocktails & Chords on the casino floor features drinks and nightly live music.

Cleo’s Coffee and Cocktails is a coffee and cocktail bar with a cafe menu. On one side is the counter-service cafe with drinks, sandwiches, flatbreads, pastries, and breakfast items, and the other is a full-service cocktail bar.

Poolside dining is available at the High Dive Pool + Lounge, either at the bar or with a floating server. Menu highlights include frozen drinks, refreshing spritzes, and sandwiches. Separate food carts feature street tacos and gelato.

To-go food is available for pickup or delivery via Caesars Eats, featuring menus from most restaurants at Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe and Harrah’s Lake Tahoe.

Final Thoughts

Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe was a comfortable home base that made it easy to enjoy Lake Tahoe with plenty to come back to. The hotel’s rooftop pool, signature dining, and nightlife made it a destination, and the lake and mountain view set the scene.

I’d stay at Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe again for a trip that combines outdoor adventures with great meals and entertainment.
