The expectations for an adequate airport hotel may include cleanliness, convenience, pleasant employees, and reasonable rates. Occasionally, an airport hotel exceeds those expectations and becomes a property you’d recommend, and even return to.

The Hyatt Regency Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport is a hotel that fits that description, as it certainly exceeded my expectations during my recent stay.

The hotel, adjacent to BKK airport, opened in early 2025 after rebranding from a former Novotel hotel. It is a large hotel with over 600 rooms, numerous amenities, and an environment unlike a typical airport hotel.

Given ongoing renovations, providing an overall review of the hotel here may only reflect a narrow snapshot that could soon be outdated. Instead, I’ll share the key things you should know about the hotel that should stand the test of time.

Here are the key things you should know about the Hyatt Regency Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport.

1. The Location Is Super Convenient

There’s nothing worse than waiting for a hotel shuttle in extreme weather, after a late arrival, or following a long journey. Fortunately, since the Hyatt Regency Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport is connected to the airport, you can walk to the hotel indoors, provided you can manage your luggage.

Hyatt Regency BKK Airport Sign
Watch for hotel signs in the passageway to the hotel.

You can access the hotel via an underground passageway that starts at the airport’s basement within the rail link station. Once you exit the airport arrivals area, take the escalator down 2 floors to floor B. Follow the signs to the rail link station, and you’ll see signs guiding you to the Hyatt Regency.

Hyatt Regency BKK Airport Entrance
Entrance to the hotel when approaching from the passageway exit.

The passageway is wide, air-conditioned, and devoid of crowds, making it a pleasant way to reach the hotel. The walk to the hotel through the underground passageway takes about 10 minutes. If you have heavy luggage, a shuttle is also available at door 4 on the 2F arrival level.

Having the accessible airport rail link, a few minutes’ walk from the hotel, also makes it easy to reach the city center.

2. You Can Book With World of Hyatt Points

The Hyatt Regency Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport offers good value for a convenient, upscale airport hotel. As a Category 2 property, you can book an award stay from just 8,000 World of Hyatt points per night or 12,000 points for a club access room.

Bilt Points earned on the Bilt Obsidian Card (rates & fees), Bilt Palladium Card (rates & fees), and Bilt Blue Card (rates & fees) can be transferred to World of Hyatt at a ratio of 1:1. There is a minimum transfer amount of 2,000 Bilt Points for Bilt Blue members and a 1,000-point minimum transfer amount for Silver, Gold, or Platinum members. You must link your Bilt and World of Hyatt accounts in the Bilt app before you can transfer.

You can also transfer Ultimate Rewards points earned on select Chase cards to World of Hyatt at a 1:1 ratio. Our favorite Chase cards for earning these flexible rewards include the Chase Sapphire Reserve® and the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card.

I transferred Ultimate Rewards points to book a room for 8,000 World of Hyatt points and received a lovely room on the fifth floor with a nice view. It was very clean but had signs of wear, such as scuffs on the wooden furniture. The bathroom showed no visible wear, though the sink and tub drained slowly. The shower was perfect.

My room was quite nice and well-equipped, with a coffee maker, kettle, bottled water, and plenty of toiletries.

3. You Can Stay a Full 24 Hours

An airport hotel that lets you have a full 24 hours in a room is a real convenience. If you arrive at 7 a.m., you’re checked into your room, and your checkout time is 24 hours later, at 7 a.m. the next day.

Hyatt Regency BKK Airport Reception
The Hyatt Regency Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport lets you check in 24/7 and stay a full 24 hours.

The Hyatt Regency Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport offers 24-hour occupancy, which was perfect for me since I had an 8 a.m. flight the next morning (I even had time for breakfast!).

Hyatt Regency BKK Airport Breakfast
Early check-in meant I could have a nice breakfast in the lounge.

Whether this 24-hour occupancy convenience will become a trend remains to be seen. However, if it’s any indication, Brazil recently passed a law requiring all lodging facilities to adopt a similar policy. (The Brazilian policy allows a 3-hour gap for cleaning.)

For guests with World of Hyatt Globalist status or club access, check-in is available at the Regency Club on the ground floor, a short walk from the reception desk.

Bottom Line:

An airport hotel with 24-hour room occupancy is reason enough to stay there. It will be a feature I look for from now on.

4. The Executive Lounge Is Excellent

Although my entry-level World of Hyatt Discoverist elite status does not include lounge access, I was given a club lounge access award by a friend. She is trying to win me over to World of Hyatt (and it’s working).

The Hyatt Regency Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport has an excellent executive club lounge. And it’s open in the morning, afternoon, and evening for food and refreshments.

Hyatt Regency BKK Airport Executive Lounge
The executive club lounge at the Hyatt Regency Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport is exceptional.

The Regency Club Lounge is open 7 to 10:30 a.m. for breakfast, 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for midday snacks, and 5 to 8 p.m. for beverages and hors d’oeuvres.

Hyatt Regency BKK sushi Christine K
I enjoyed the evening happy hour in the executive lounge.

The evening hors d’oeuvres included lamb kebabs with mint sauce, oysters Rockefeller, sushi (including the grilled eel in the photo above), and many other delicious appetizers.

Without the club access award gift, I could have used 12,000 World of Hyatt points for a lounge-access room, which would have been well worth it.

5. Hotel Amenities Outweigh Any Renovation Noise

Although remodeling was underway at the hotel, this wasn’t a reason to avoid staying there. There were plenty of amenities that made the hotel an enjoyable place to stay for me, despite minimal daytime construction noise.

Hyatt Regency BKK Airport Pool
Don’t miss the inviting pool area during your stay at the hotel.

The hotel’s pool area was divine. With its tropical greenery, water features, and locally inspired architecture, I felt like I was in paradise, not an airport hotel. There was also a poolside bar and plenty of lounge chairs.

The 24-hour-a-day fitness center is expansive and well air-conditioned. In addition, the hotel has a spa with a secret garden spot for relaxation. World of Hyatt members can receive spa discount offers at check-in.

Hyatt Regency BKK Airport Fitness Center
The hotel’s fitness center is open 24 hours a day.

The hotel has several restaurants, including the Market Café in the lobby (open 24/7), the Golden Village (Chinese), Sala Thai (Thai), Kinsen (Japanese), and Le Gourmet for breakfast and international cuisine.

Hyatt Regency BKK Sports Bar
The Touchdown Sports Bar is a lively meeting spot for guests.

Additional features and amenities include free parking, full business services and meeting facilities, a concierge, and complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the hotel.

Final Thoughts

My stay at the Hyatt Regency Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport was short but delightful. In fact, I would say it is one of the nicest airport hotels I have stayed at.

I loved the convenience of walking to the hotel in air-conditioned comfort, the fact that I had a room for a full 24 hours, the tropical pool area, and especially the executive lounge. And I found the room very comfortable and well-appointed.

I would definitely stay at the Hyatt Regency Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport again and recommend it to others.
