With a 10 a.m. flight from Paris (CDG) to Houston (IAH), I had to make a decision when booking my last night in Paris: Would I stay central or near the airport?

After reviewing rates and locations, Moxy Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport was one of the most affordable hotels on airport grounds, and it would be easy to hop on the free CDGVAL train to the terminal in the morning. The rates were significantly cheaper than central Paris hotels, so it was a no-brainer to book a stay.

Let’s take a look at how I booked my November 2025 stay, how to catch the train to the airport, and what the room and breakfast looked like. I’ll also review the fun and funky common areas and amenities that the Moxy brand is known for.

Booking Moxy Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport

I had an expiring $50 Chase Travel hotel credit from my Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card to utilize, and I was pleased to see that Chase Travel offered the same rates for the Moxy Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport as Marriott.com did directly. My friend and I booked a room with 2 twin beds at a refundable bed-and-breakfast rate for $131, including taxes and fees. The cheapest available rate without breakfast was $119, but we figured we wouldn’t find breakfast for 2 at the airport for less than $12. And though I hold Marriott Gold Elite status, I prioritized using my Chase credit over any elite benefits or earning Marriott Bonvoy points, as this was a third-party booking.

Cash rates are consistently around $110 to $150; if you go this route, consider using one of our recommended credit cards for Marriott loyalists. Award nights are priced from 18,500 to 24,500 Marriott Bonvoy points per night, which doesn’t represent a tremendous value for those points, according to our valuations.

Easy Access to CDG

The hotel has easy access to Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) via the free CDGVAL shuttle train. This train connects the 3 terminals, train stations, remote parking lots, and hotels in the Roissypôle district. It operates from 4 a.m. to 1 a.m. The stop for the Moxy is Parking PR, between terminals 1 and 3.

When you depart the hotel for the airport, look for the stairs or ramp to descend from the hotel’s elevated position to the street level, where the station is.

You can lift your bag along the stairs or zigzag your way along the ramp.

From the bottom of these stairs, you can see the station in the distance (circled in the picture below). Follow the first sidewalk to the right, then turn left to follow the covered sidewalk.

The station is well-signed to ensure you arrive at the correct terminal.

Bottom Line:

Whether you’re arriving or departing CDG, it’s easy and quick to use the CDGVAL train to access the Moxy. It’s also navigable with luggage.

Lobby and Lounging Spaces

We arrived at the Moxy just after 9 p.m., and to say the joint was jumpin’ would have been an understatement. The check-in area was packed, and I totally felt like I had rolled up to a hoppin’ bar and was several people deep in trying to place my drink order. After a roughly 15-minute wait to check in, we were given our keys and informed about breakfast times, as well as how to order our complimentary welcome drinks.

Several employees were working check-in, but there was a long line of guests waiting.

The Moxy brand really shines with its unique, fun, and funky lobby spaces, which I first experienced at Moxy Kyoto. Even with a lot of bustling activity around the check-in desk, there was still plenty of space to lounge, grab a bite to eat, or catch up on work without feeling cramped or crowded.

The central bar was the busiest area, and was where we ordered our welcome beverages. The house special was an alcoholic or nonalcoholic ICEE concoction, which my friend took a sip of and quickly set aside for being overly sweet. I was able to get a Pepsi Zero Sugar instead. In addition to a full bar, a full menu was available outside of breakfast hours, featuring starters, burgers, pizzas, salads, and wraps. Most mains started at €16 (around $19).

The rest of the lobby was ideal for working or catching up with friends or family. Seating was well-suited for solo travelers or groups, and outlets were plentiful throughout. I really enjoyed the variety of seating styles, and I think Moxy delivers on creating cool spaces that are fun to hang out in.

Twin Room

I was immediately surprised that this room was not as tight or compact as my previous Moxy stay. The bathroom was on the left as I entered, with an open closet to the right. Once I stepped into the bedroom, a small desk was on the right next to a TV, with the beds on the left.

The twin beds had a padded headboard behind a single pillow. Each side had a lamp, reading light, and an LED-illuminated ledge with lighting controls and Type E and USB-A outlets. The TV had English-language channels and was next to a larger ledge that served as a desk, accompanied by a stool. The open closet had a luggage rack, a few hangers, and a top ledge.

Bathroom

The bathroom was the most compact area and fairly unremarkable, with a small walk-in shower to the right and a toilet positioned in front of the vanity on the left. The bath amenities were from Muk and Five Wits.

Breakfast

For what I considered a $6 breakfast per person, the spread overdelivered with a lot of variety. There were various cold cuts and cheeses (hello, Camembert!), yogurts, fresh vegetables for salads, sausages, scrambled eggs, bacon, and baked goods, all next to a giant Nutella dispenser. There was also an egg boiling contraption, a cereal station with dried fruits and nuts, a juice dispenser, a tea station, and a coffee machine. Microwaves were also available to use throughout the day.

Unique Amenities

In addition to the inviting lobby, the property offered numerous unique amenities throughout. Right near the front door were items you might expect to receive complimentary from a hotel, such as a minimart-style vending machine with essentials like toiletries and charging cables, a €1 luggage scale, and umbrellas available for rent for €3 for 48 hours.

Also on the ground level was a gym, meeting rooms, an airline staff lounge, and free luggage lockers.

Service

The check-in team was clearly overwhelmed when we arrived after 9 p.m., as the line of arrivals quickly grew across the lobby. Complimentary water nearby was emptied, and cups were strewn about the water table and overflowing from the garbage bin.

Water cup waste.

Aside from that first impression, our check-in experience was smooth. However, our interactions with the bar staff as we received our welcome drinks were somewhat mediocre, as we realized we couldn’t order what we wanted but had to settle for the house ICEE concoction.

My experience at breakfast around 6:30 a.m. was fine. Although the buffet area was quite busy, the food was well-stocked and quickly replenished, and the dining areas were clean.

Final Thoughts

I would definitely choose Moxy Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport again for a stay after a late-night arrival or if I had a morning departure. I’m a fan of the Moxy brand and its hip communal spaces, and I don’t mind the pared-down room if I’m just looking for a place to sleep.

The low rates and easy access to the CDGVAL train, which connected me quickly to my terminal, would put the Moxy at the top of my CDG-area hotel search again. I’d also consider booking the breakfast rate again, as its spread was well beyond basic and a good value for the $12 difference in room rate we paid.
