What Is the $100 Chase Travel Hotel Credit?

The Chase Sapphire Preferred card’s $100 hotel credit is valid for hotel stays booked through Chase Travel.

No enrollment or registration is necessary. As long as you book your hotel through Chase Travel, you get a $100 statement credit every cardmember year (not calendar year).

The statement credit will be applied to your account within 1 to 2 billing cycles of your hotel booking. You can use this credit as soon as you’re approved for the card.

You get a $100 hotel credit from the date your account opens through your first cardmember anniversary, then another $100 hotel credit each cardmember year after that.

If your stay is less than $100, you receive a statement credit equal to the amount of your purchase. The unused portion of your annual credit is available for future eligible bookings during your anniversary year. For example, you could use $79 of your hotel credit, then apply the remaining $21 to another booking later.

Any hotel stays booked outside of the Chase Travel portal do not qualify for the $100 credit. For example, booking a hotel stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Orlando Grande Lakes directly with Marriott would not trigger the credit.

Hot Tip:

Cardholders who have already used their $50 hotel credit for this year can use another $50 after June 15, 2026.

Hot Tip:

Chase Travel hotel purchases that qualify for the $100 annual hotel credit don’t earn rewards points.

Is the $100 Hotel Credit Worth It?

Assuming you’d book a hotel within your cardmember year with the Chase Sapphire Preferred card, using the hotel credit is worth it. With no minimum stay requirement or specific hotel programs, this $100 hotel credit is easy to use. All you have to do is book through Chase Travel and pay with your Chase Sapphire Preferred card.

This credit is much simpler than the up-to-$500 annual credit with The Edit available to cardholders of the Chase Sapphire Reserve® and Sapphire Reserve for Business℠. Using that credit requires a minimum 2-night stay and applies only to The Edit properties.

Final Thoughts

The Chase Sapphire Preferred card‘s $100 Chase Travel hotel credit is straightforward to use and valuable for cardholders who make at least 1 eligible booking each account anniversary year. The credit can offset the card’s $95 annual fee.

Before you book, compare the Chase Travel price with the hotel’s direct rate to make sure the credit would help you save. If the price is competitive, using the credit is an easy way to get value from your card every year.
