Alaska Airlines is building its global network with 2 new European destinations: London Heathrow (LHR) and Reykjavik, Iceland (KEF).

“With these bold moves, we are accelerating our vision to connect our guests to the world,” said Ben Minicucci, CEO at Alaska Airlines. ‘We are seizing this moment to redefine the international experience and level up.”

The Seattle-based carrier has also revealed its striking new livery that will feature on its fleet of Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners.

There’s a lot to unpack, so let’s get started.

Alaska’s New Routes to Europe

From Spring 2026, Alaska will operate nonstop flights from Seattle (SEA) to London Heathrow and Reykjavik. These 2 new destinations are part of a larger international route network expansion that is set to be complete by 2030.

The news comes after the airline announced Rome (FCO) as its first-ever European destination back in June.

Fly From Seattle to London With Alaska Airlines

Alaska’s new route to London will be operated by the airline’s shiny new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, which will be painted in its stunning new livery. More on that later.

Details about the schedule and pricing are yet to be revealed. However, we know the route will operate year-round and be timed to coincide with Alaska and Hawaiian Airlines‘ flights between Seattle and Hawaii to facilitate connectivity.

As Alaska and Heathrow-based British Airways are both Oneworld member airlines, Alaska’s new route will allow the airlines to create new codeshares and other partnerships to enhance international connectivity.

Alaska will join British Airways, Delta, and Virgin Atlantic as the fourth airline to operate nonstop service on the route.

Fly From Seattle to Reykjavik With Alaska Airlines

Also starting in spring, Alaska will launch a seasonal service to Iceland’s capital, Reykjavik. The service will be operated by the airline’s Boeing 737-8 MAX fleet.

Alaska will be the only U.S. airline to connect the 2 cities.

Hot Tip:

Here are some of the best ways to earn a ton of Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan miles.

A Fresh New Look For Alaska’s Dreamliners

In what is undoubtedly one of the most striking rebrands of modern times, Alaska will debut a stunning new livery on its yet-to-be-delivered Dreamliners.

The new design will be seen flying for the first time in January 2026, and all Alaska’s Dreamliners will boast the eye-catching livery by the time the route to London launches.

An important detail is missing: Alaska hasn’t revealed any information about what the inside of these jets will look like. All we know is there’ll be 34 “enclosed suites” with lie-flat seats in business class.

We expect to have more information on this for you in a couple of weeks.

Final Thoughts

With new European destinations and a bold new livery to go with it, 2026 is set to be a huge year for Alaska Airlines as it deepens the merger with Hawaiian Airlines and moves to a single loyalty program. We’ll be sure to keep you updated.
