Alaska Airlines is in the midst of a major shakeup. While it completes the integration of Hawaiian Airlines into the Alaska Air Group, it’s also working on a major international expansion from its Seattle (SEA) hub, where it plans to offer 12 long-haul routes by 2030.

Part of that long-haul push is upping its airport lounge game, and the carrier has just shared details of an upcoming flagship space in Seattle, which is slated to open in 2027.

Here’s everything we know so far.

Alaska Plans Brand-New Flagship Lounge in Seattle

Slated for a late-2027 opening, Alaska Airlinesnew “global” lounge will span 41,000 square feet and provide seating for approximately 700 spread across 2 levels.

It will be located in the newly renovated C concourse at Seattle (SEA) and will offer guests incredible views of the Olympic Mountains and the tarmac, great news for avid planespotters.

According to the airline, it will be the largest lounge at the airport when it opens, featuring a slew of premium amenities, including shower suites, multiple bars, à la carte dining, and chef-driven menus.

Each level will serve a unique purpose. The first floor will be a typical Alaska Lounge (though it will feature the latest and greatest in design and amenities), open to those with a lounge membership, a day pass, or eligible first-class flyers.

Meanwhile, the second floor will be open to long-haul premium passengers and top-tier Alaska Airlines Atmos Rewards Titanium members flying on long-haul international flights.

Alaska has been fighting fiercely with Delta Air Lines for dominance in Seattle. The latter recently opened a brand-new space that houses both a Delta Sky Club and a Delta One Lounge, and it seems Alaska will be doing the same. What remains to be seen, however, is whether Alaska can outclass the admittedly very good new lounges from Delta.

The new global lounge in Seattle is the latest in a flurry of lounge-related news from the carrier, which is planning to open a brand-new lounge in Portland (PDX) this summer. Then, in early 2028, it will open its first-ever lounge in San Diego (SAN) in addition to a new and expanded lounge in Honolulu (HNL).

Hot Tip:

As part of its premium international push, Alaska also recently opened a dedicated elite-member and suites passenger check-in space at its Seattle hub.

Final Thoughts

Alaska Airlines is making a big push with its lounge network, and this new space in Seattle will be the crown jewel when it opens late next year.

It’s an exciting time for the carrier, and the new lounge is another piece of the puzzle that will complete its transformation into a true global carrier. We can’t wait to visit the new lounge for ourselves when it opens!
