Amex Business Gold Card 100,000-Point Offer

The current public welcome offer for the Amex Business Gold card is:

  • As High As 200,000 points. Find Out Your Offer. You may be eligible for as high as 200,000 Membership Rewards® Points after spending $15,000 in your first 3 months of Membership. Welcome offers vary and you may not be eligible for an offer.

We value Amex points at 2.2 cents each, which means this welcome offer is worth $2,200.

Earning as high as 200,000 points is the strongest welcome offer currently available on the Amex Business Gold card. The application is seamless, too, as you’ll find out if you’re approved for the card and the exact version of your welcome offer all using an initial soft credit check. (Source: American Express)

A couple things could happen during the application: If it’s denied, your credit score won’t be impacted. If you are approved, you’ll review your targeted welcome offer. You still have the chance to exit out of the application without a credit impact, but if you decide to accept the new account, a hard inquiry may be added at this stage.

There’s so much you can do with 100,000 American Express Membership Rewards points.

I recently transferred 85,000 Amex points to The British Airways Club to fly on Qatar Airways Qsuites from Male, Maldives, all the way to John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). It was a long journey, and I was very comfortable the whole way. What a fantastic way to use my Amex points!

Eligibility & Pop-Up Rules for the 100K Bonus Offer

When you’re applying, some applicants may see a “pop-up message.” This is Amex’s way of letting you know that you’re not eligible for the Amex Business Gold card’s welcome offer, and you have the option to proceed (without earning the bonus offer) or withdraw your application entirely.

Either way, your credit score won’t be impacted.

If you don’t see this pop-up window, that’s good news. You’ll then be shown the welcome offer you’re eligible for, but not everyone will receive the highest available amount. Your eligibility to earn as high as 200,000 points could depend on these factors (Source: American Express):

  • Your spending history on existing accounts
  • How many consumer and business Amex cards you’ve opened or closed recently
  • The number of welcome offers you’ve earned in the past with American Express

In the “Offer & Benefit Terms” of the application, you may also see American Express “lifetime language.” This rule generally limits applicants to earning a welcome offer on a specific card once, so you’ll want to take note of that during this stage. It reads: “You may not be eligible to receive a welcome offer if you have or have had this Card or previous versions of this Card.”

Key Card Details

The annual fee is $375 (rates & fees). However, the Amex Business Gold card offers a fantastic points-earning structure and other key benefits, which will appeal to a wide variety of business owners (Source: American Express):

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Amex Business Gold card's 100K welcome offer still available?

Your exact welcome offer will be displayed during the application process, and it can be as high as 200,000 bonus points upon meeting minimum spend requirements.

Who is eligible for the 100K Amex Business Gold card welcome offer?

Generally, if you’ve never had the Amex Business Gold card in the past, you should be eligible for the welcome offer. However, this could depend on many other factors, such as how many other Amex accounts you already have and your spending patterns. We recommend applying directly via American Express and seeing if you come across a “pop-up notification.” If you don’t, then you are eligible to earn the welcome offer presented to you on the next page.

Is the 100K offer the highest available bonus offer on the Amex Business Gold card?

No. The current welcome offer is as high as 200,000 points after spending $15,000 in 3 months, though not everyone is eligible for the maximum bonus offer. You’ll find out after you input your basic application details and before a hard credit check is applied.
