Many of the credit card offers that appear on this site are from credit card companies from which we may receive financial compensation when a customer clicks on a link, when an application is approved, or when an account is opened. This compensation may impact how and where products appear on this site (including, for example, the order in which they appear). However, the credit card information that we publish has been written and evaluated by experts who know these products inside out. We only recommend products we either use ourselves or endorse. This site does not include all credit card companies or all available credit card offers that are on the market. See our advertising policy here where we list advertisers that we work with, and how we make money. You can also review our credit card rating methodology.

Here’s an example of the best 300,000-point welcome bonus offer when applying directly through American Express (this was independently researched and a targeted opportunity):

If your application is denied, your credit score won’t be impacted. If you’re approved, you can review the welcome offer you qualify for — which could be as high as 300,000 points. A hard inquiry is typically only added if you choose to open the account, so you can also exit the process if you decide not to move forward with the application.
Hot Tip:
Based on our latest point valuations, we value Amex points at about 2.2 cents each — meaning 300,000 bonus points alone could be worth an eye-popping up to $6,600 in travel value.
Option 2: Targeted Email Offers
Keep an eye on any emails or mailers from American Express — sometimes they contain special invitations for these elevated targeted offers. To make sure you don’t miss them, go into your Amex account settings and opt in to receive “New Card and Credit Offers” under General Marketing Email Preferences.
Option 3: Check on CardMatch
You can also try the CardMatch tool to see if you qualify for elevated offers across different cards and issuers. The best part: CardMatch doesn’t perform a hard credit pull, so checking won’t affect your credit score. (Source: CardMatch)
Eligibility & Pop-Up Rules for the as High as 300K Bonus Offer
Some applicants may come across the infamous “pop-up message,” which is Amex’s way of letting you know that you’re not eligible for the Amex Business Platinum card’s welcome offer at this time.

If the pop-up notification appears, you can proceed without earning the bonus or withdraw your application without impact to your credit score. If you don’t see it, you can move forward with the welcome offer shown.
Even if you bypass the pop-up window and are eligible to receive a welcome offer, not everyone will receive the highest available amount. Your eligibility to earn as high as 300,000 points depends on the following culmination of factors:
Your spending patterns on existing Amex cards, potentially if you spend too little across your accounts
Your account history, and specifically how many Amex cards you’ve opened or closed recently, both consumer and business
The number of welcome bonuses you’ve earned with American Express already, as frequently opening cards and closing them after earning bonuses may reduce your chances of qualifying for future opportunities
There’s also the possibility of seeing “lifetime language” on the application page. This American Express rule limits you to earning a welcome bonus offer on a specific card once.
You’ll want to review the “Offer & Benefit Terms” to see if language like this appears: “You may not be eligible to receive a welcome offer if you have or have had this Card or previous versions of this Card.” Some applicants may not see this language, and therefore it may be possible that you could earn another welcome offer on the Amex Business Platinum card.
