Cardholders of The Business Platinum Card® from American Express receive up to $400 in annual Dell statement credits each year, broken into 2 credits of up to $200 that are available in each half of the year (enrollment required).

Now that we are nearing the midpoint of 2024, the deadline to use your first Dell credit of up to $200 is coming soon.

If you haven’t used it already, here is how you can do so and how you can help stack your purchase for added rewards or savings.

How To Activate Amex Dell Credit

The deadline to use your Amex Business Platinum card‘s first Dell statement credit of the year for up to $200 is June 30, 2024.

The transaction does not necessarily need to be posted to your card by that date, but as long as the purchase date for your transaction occurred on or before June 30, you should receive your credit. Note that American Express states that it can take 2 to 4 weeks to receive your statement credit, though it often posts much faster than this.

Your statement credit is valid only on purchases made directly with Dell Technologies or at dell.com and is not valid on online purchases shipped outside of the U.S. or purchases from unauthorized resellers.

Before you can use your credit, you need to activate it. To do this, log into your account on the American Express website and click on the Benefits tab. From there, scroll down until you see the Shop Dell Technologies tile and click on it to enroll in the benefit. You’ll only need to do this once to be eligible to use the credit twice each year.

Hot Tip: Not sure how to spend your Dell statement credit of up to $200? Read through our guide on the best products you can purchase using your Amex Business Platinum Dell credit.

How To Stack Your Dell Credit for Extra Rewards or Savings

There are 2 things you should be doing regularly when you make purchases using one of your American Express cards. The first is checking your Amex Offers for added deals that often present the opportunity to save even more money or earn additional Membership Rewards points. There are currently several reported Amex Offers for Dell — perfectly timed for use in conjunction with your Dell statement credit of up to $200.

Another great resource to stack this deal is going through Rakuten. For those unfamiliar, Rakuten is a shopping portal that allows you to earn cash-back or Amex Membership Rewards points (for those with a qualified account) on your purchases.

Here you can see how you can easily click through Rakuten before making your Dell purchase to use your statement credit of up to $200, and for doing so you can earn either 5% cash-back or 5x Membership Rewards points per $1 spent, all on a purchase that is going to get credited back to you anyway.

Final Thoughts

Up to $400 in annual Dell credits each year is one of the great benefits of the Amex Business Platinum card and can go a long way in helping to offset the card’s $695 annual fee (rates & fees).

If you’ve put using your statement credit of up to $200 off until the last minute, make sure you make a purchase by the deadline of June 30, 2024, to take advantage of it — and don’t forget to check your Amex Offers and Rakuten while you’re at it.
