Some big news from American Express — the Centurion Lounge at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) is now open for guests.

At nearly 26,000 square feet, it is the largest Centurion Lounge in Amex’s network, nearly double that of the Dallas (DFW) location! It’s fitting for Atlanta, the world’s busiest airport.

“We’re very intentional about how we grow our Centurion Lounge network,” said Audrey Hendley, American Express Travel President, in an exclusive statement shared with Upgraded Points.  “As the world’s busiest airport and one our Card Members are always traveling through, Atlanta is the ideal hub for our 28th Centurion Lounge.”

Read on to learn about the newest Centurion Lounge Atlanta — and how to access it with a premium credit card.

Amex Centurion Lounge Atlanta Location and Hours

The Centurion Lounge is located at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport’s Concourse E near gate E11. Concourse E also features a Delta Sky Club and Minute Suites, giving departing travelers more lounge options.

Atlanta’s Amex Centurion Lounge will be open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.

Amex Centurion Lounge Atlanta Amenities

You’ll have ample space to kick back before your flight, with many indoor seating options designed for work or play, plus outdoor terraces with views of the airfield. The lounge is large enough to hopefully address major concerns about overcrowding at Centurion lounges and airport lounges broadly.

When asked about how Amex will mitigate overcrowding at its newest lounge, Hendley told us: “The Centurion Lounge at ATL is the largest in the network, with multiple seating areas and outdoor terraces for guests to enjoy year-round.”

Other amenities include:

  • Workstations and phone booths
  • Premium restrooms and shower suites
  • Ample seating areas
  • Complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi

There’s even a live olive tree — and Hendley tells us that it spent a year on the banks of Lake Okeechobee in Central Florida to acclimate to the anticipated lower light levels it would experience indoors inside of the lounge.

Whether you’re leaving Atlanta or just passing through, no trip is complete without a good, hearty meal.

Atlanta has 1 of the world’s most diverse and eclectic food scenes, owing to its roots as a Southern city known for soul food. Amex has tapped Chef Deborah VanTrece, James Beard Award semifinalist and owner of several local Atlanta restaurants, Twisted Soul Cookhouse & Pours, Oreatha’s At The Point, and La Panarda, to curate the food menu.

Drawing on her experiences as a former flight attendant and her own family traditions, guests will enjoy dishes such as black-eyed pea biryani and za’atar grilled chicken thighs. Gluten-free and vegan options, including protein bites, salads, and smoothies, will also be available.

Amex is known to offer quirky amenities at some of its Centurion Lounges, such as the speakeasy at the New York-JFK Centurion Lounge or the manicure station at the Centurion Lounge in Miami.

But a first for the lounge network is coming to Centurion Lounge Atlanta is a whiskey bar.  The Reserve by American Express’s cocktail menu boasts 5 whiskey cocktails, including Drink a Peach (a nod to Georgia’s nickname of the “Peach State.”) The cocktail menu was designed by Centurion Mixologist Jim Meehan.

Cardmembers will also have their choice of 20 classic and new American whiskeys, 10 wines hand-selected by sommelier and Centurion Lounge Wine Director Anthony Giglio, a local cocktail menu including spirit-free options, and Centurion Lounge signature drinks.

How To Access the Amex Centurion Lounge Atlanta (ATL)

Given the perks you just heard about at the Centurion Lounge Atlanta, you should know that you can’t simply buy your way into the Amex lounges.

To get into the Amex Centurion Lounges, you’ll need one of the following cards:

To cut down on overcrowding (a notable pain point for the lounge network), you can access Centurion Lounges only within 3 hours of a departing flight or between connecting flights.

Centurion Lounge Guest Policy

Back in 2022, Amex announced that it would cut complimentary guest access for the Amex Platinum card and Amex Business Platinum card, ostensibly to address concerns about overcrowding in the lounges.

Here’s the current guest policy:

  • Amex Platinum card and Amex Business Platinum cardmembers may enter with up to 2 complimentary guests if they have spent $75,000 in eligible purchases in a calendar year. Otherwise, a guest day pass can be purchased for $50 per adult or $30 per child between the ages of 2 and 17.
  • Centurion cardmembers may enter with up to 2 guests or immediate family (spouse or domestic partner, and children under 18) at no additional charge.
  • Delta Reserve cardholders may bring up to 2 guests at a per-visit rate of $50 per person, per location, but they must also be traveling on a same-day Delta ticket.
  • Amex Platinum card, Amex Business Platinum card, and Centurion cardmembers may purchase a day pass for any additional guests for $50.

About the Amex Centurion Lounge Network

The Centurion Lounges are some of the best places to spend your time at the airport ahead of your flight. You can grab food from a buffet, order from the menu, take a nap in the zen room, take in a meeting in a business room, or simply relax with a cocktail during your visit. And some lounges offer even more premium amenities – such as a manicure or massage – making the experience even more memorable.

The Centurion Lounge network is part of the broader American Express Global Lounge Collection. This feature gives you complimentary lounge access to over 1,400 different lounge properties across the globe, including the massive network of Priority Pass lounges (upon enrollment).
