After a long dry spell, ANA First Class is once again bookable with Air Canada Aeroplan points — and that’s huge news for points collectors. In recent years, ANA has still offered First Class award seats to partners, but in very limited numbers, making them challenging to find through programs like Aeroplan.

Now, that’s finally changing. Here’s what you need to know and how to book one of these coveted seats.

ANA First Class Awards Return to Aeroplan

Aeroplan has restored access to ANA First Class seats, giving travelers another way to redeem points for ANA’s luxurious “The Suite.” This was first noticed by the folks at Roame.travel, which tipped us off to the improvement.

Members can now book ANA First Class from the U.S. to Japan starting at 110,000 Aeroplan points one-way, plus about $56 in taxes and fees.

This is especially exciting for travelers hoping to fly ANA’s newest First Class cabins on routes such as New York (JFK)–Tokyo Haneda (HND) and Los Angeles (LAX)–Tokyo Haneda (HND). While availability remains limited, the key update is that Aeroplan is once again displaying and ticketing ANA First Class seats — something that had been broken or blocked for months.

For context, ANA First Class award space through Aeroplan has historically been inconsistent, often appearing for a short time before disappearing again for months. So while this renewed access is great news, we’re not sure how long it will last — making now an excellent time to lock in a seat if you find one.

ANA continues to be one of Aeroplan’s most valuable Star Alliance partners, thanks to its exceptional service, impressive hard product, and Aeroplan’s no fuel surcharge policy. Even with limited space, the 110,000-point First Class rate remains one of the best sweet spots in premium cabin travel to Japan.

Hot Tip:

Fortunately, earning Aeroplan points is extremely easy. The program not only offers its own co-branded Aeroplan® Credit Card, but the Air Canada Aeroplan program is also a transfer partner of Amex Membership Rewards, Bilt Rewards, Capital One miles, Chase Ultimate Rewards, and Mesa Points, all at a 1:1 rate, as well as Marriott Bonvoy at a 3:1 rate.

Final Thoughts

It’s hard to say how long this renewed ANA First Class access will stick around. History shows it can disappear just as quickly as it returns. But if you’ve been eyeing The Suite and have Aeroplan points ready to use, now’s the time to book before the window closes again.
