Capital One relatively recently added transfer partners to its Capital One Miles program, greatly enhancing the value of its currency. However, it maintained transfer ratios of 2:1:5 with many of its partners, as as opposed to the 1:1 ratio you find with other programs like Amex Membership Rewards, Chase Ultimate Rewards, and Citi ThankYou Points.

As of today, that all changes.

Now, Capital One miles will transfer at a 1:1 ratio to every partner in the program except for 2 (Accor Live Limitless and EVA Air Infinity MileageLands). This without a doubt gives a massive boost to the value of Capital One miles — and the credit cards that earn them.

Capital One Miles Improves Transfer Rates

Here are the updated transfer rates for every Capital One transfer partner:

Accor and EVA Air are the only programs without a 1:1 transfer rate. Capital One miles will continue to transfer to those programs at ratios of 2:1 and 2:1.5, respectively. Keep in mind that the Choice Privileges program will be added as Capital One’s 17th transfer partner later this year with a transfer rate of 1:1 as well.

Hot Tip: Now that your Capital One miles are more valuable, there are dozens of great ways to put them to good use. Check out our ultimate guide that shows you how to do just that!

Capital One Cards That Earn Transferable Miles

If you’re not already aware, the following Capital One cards earn Capital One miles and have access to transfer partners:

The Capital One Venture card and Capital One Spark Miles card are the most interesting options here, as they both earn an unlimited 2x miles per $1 spent on all purchases you make with either card. This is pretty exceptional as there aren’t many credit cards on the market that offer 2x rewards on all purchases and access to 1:1 transfer partners with just 1 card!

Final Thoughts

This is a massive boost for both the Capital One miles program and the issuer’s cards that earn Capital One miles.

For travelers who hate juggling spend between cards — and prefer a 1-card solution — earning 2x miles on all purchases, and being able to transfer them at a 1:1 rate to high-value loyalty programs like Air Canada Aeroplan, Avianca LifeMiles, Turkish Miles&Smiles, and more, is very compelling!
