Capital One is introducing a new business card to its Spark family lineup, the Capital One Spark Cash Plus Card, which will replace the older Capital One Spark Cash for Business. For business owners who are looking to earn cash-back, you’ll likely find the Capital One Spark Cash Plus card to be one of the most compelling options on the market.
Let’s take a look at what the card offers, and why it might be a good fit for your business.
Capital One Spark Cash Plus Card Welcome Bonus
For starters, new cardholders have the ability to earn a one-time cash bonus of $1,200 once you spend $30,000 in the first 3 months.
While this might seem like quite a bit in order to receive the second half of the bonus, it shouldn’t be terribly difficult to hit for business owners who have a large number of monthly expenses.
Capital One Spark Cash Plus Card Details
With the Capital One Spark Cash Plus card, you’ll earn an uncapped 2% cash-back on all purchases you make with the card. The card also comes with no preset spending limit and instead adapts to your needs based on spending behavior, payment history, and credit profile. Due to that, there’s no purchase APR because your balance is due in full every month. Otherwise, you’ll be charged a 2.99% monthly late fee.
While the card does charge a $150 annual fee, it also comes with the following benefits:
- Virtual card numbers
- Free employee cards
- No foreign transaction fees
- Roadside assistance
- Extended warranty
- Get your $150 annual fee refunded every year you spend at least $150,000
Bottom Line: As far as cash-back business credit cards go, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a better option than the uncapped 2% back on all purchases that the Capital One Spark Cash Plus card offers.
Final Thoughts
For those who run a small business that spends less than $65,000 annually, you’d likely be better off opting for a no-annual-fee 2% cash-back card like The American Express Blue Business Cash™ Card (see rates and fees), as the annual fee you’ll pay on the Capital One Spark Cash Plus card will cut into the overall amount of cash-back you’ll earn.
But for business owners that have annual expenses far beyond $65,000 and want to earn as much cash-back as possible, then the Capital One Spark Cash Plus card is probably a great fit for you, especially when considering that the card has no preset spending limit.
