Chase has been on a tear opening its new airport lounges, including a location in Phoenix last month. Now, its seventh location is opening on December 6, 2024, in San Diego (SAN), and Chase’s first lounge on the West Coast is beautiful. Let’s take a look at what to expect when visiting, including its location, the amenities it offers, and how to gain access.

Location

The Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club in San Diego is located in Terminal 2 between Gates 46 and 47 at the San Diego (SAN) airport.

To enter, you’ll need to take an elevator to the third floor, where you’ll be greeted at the entrance.

Note that Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 aren’t connected post-security. This means that if you’re flying Frontier or Southwest (which operate out of Terminal 1), you’ll need to go through security twice if you’re interested in checking out the lounge.

The Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club is open daily from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.

How To Access the Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club in San Diego

Like other card issuers, Chase restricts those who can enter its lounges. While it does allow those with a Priority Pass membership to visit once per year for free, it’s fairly restrictive.

Those who can visit include:

  • Chase Sapphire Reserve®: Unlimited visits for yourself and up to 2 guests ($27 for additional guests)
  • J.P. Morgan Reserve Card: Unlimited visits for yourself and up to 2 guests ($27 for additional guests)
  • The Ritz-Carlton™ Credit Card: Unlimited access, unlimited guests
  • Priority Pass Members: 1 free visit per year, $75 for additional visits
  • Other Guests: $100 for a day pass

To gain entry using one of your eligible credit cards, you’ll need to use the Priority Pass membership associated with your card.

Those with a same-day confirmed boarding pass can enter up to 3 hours before departure, though this rule is waived if you’re on a layover.

Seating

The Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club in San Diego is over 10,000 square feet, and it feels roomy.

Right after entering, you’ll find a massive open-space area with the centerpiece bar and booth seating.

There are also quite a few dining tables.

It’s possible to turn left from the entrance or connect from the bar area to additional seating. This is also where the family room is located.

And further back, there are yet more seating options, all of which sport incredible runway views.

Amenities

The Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club in San Diego is packed with amenities, including a shower, wellness room, and complimentary skincare.

Phone Room

Lounges are meant to be quieter than the terminal, which is why it’s always great to see phone rooms available for use. While there’s just 1 at the lounge, it does have a closing door, which should help dampen noise.

Family Room

Those traveling with families are welcome at the lounge, which sports Chase’s signature glass-door family room for a little noise-proofing while keeping kids secure.

Wellness Area

Perhaps the most exciting feature of the Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club in San Diego is the wellness area, which provides free 15-minute facials to anyone who signs up. These are provided by Face Haus. You can also get a scan of your face done to see what areas need improvement, including the ability to send the results to yourself via email.

However, there is just 1 room and 1 esthetician available in the lounge, which might mean you’ll encounter a long wait if the lounge is busy.

Quiet Room

At the very back of the lounge, you’ll find the quiet room, which features 4 pods enclosed with curtains.

The quiet room is separated from the main lounge by a door, so you’ll have a little more peace and privacy than you’ll find in the rest of the lounge.

Firepit

Meant to evoke images of beach bonfires, Chase has also opted to include a “firepit” in one of its seating areas. It’s made of steam and light but is very cool to spend time around.

Shower

There’s just 1 shower located in the lounge, though it is very spacious.

Otherwise, you’ll find 1 gender-neutral bathroom as well as restrooms for men and women.

It’s a nice touch that Chase also provides toiletries in the women’s restroom.

Nursing Room

Near the wellness areas is where you’ll find the nursing room, which is available to anyone who needs it.

Portable Chargers

Although there are plenty of outlets along the walls, if you happen to find yourself in a seat without one, you can also head to the front desk and ask for a battery pack.

Food and Drink

Chase does food in its lounges really well, so it’s no surprise that you’ll find excellent meals all throughout the day.

Food

You can choose between going to the buffet or scanning a QR code from your seat to order food. Food at this lounge is curated by Oscars Mexican Seafood, which is based in San Diego.

For breakfast, there were plenty of choices, including sandwiches, eggs, and egg white frittatas. Signs for the food indicated allergens in each dish.

You’ll also find fresh fruit and oatmeal.

Plus French toast, chickpea hash, and breakfast tortas.

Finally, there’s also a station to the side with breakfast pastries.

The menu rotates at lunch and even includes hamburgers with fries.

Drinks

As the bar is the centerpiece of the lounge, you’d expect to find some pretty decent drinks on offer.

You’d be right. There’s a big selection of cocktails, beer, wine, and mocktails available to guests. The bar’s menu said all of the signature cocktails could be made as mocktails as well.

Wines on offer include:

  • Red: Domaine Faiveley, Bourgogne Rouge 2022 and Mas Le Chevalière, Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
  • White: Pazo du Bruxas, Albariño 2023 and Famille Vincent, Bourgogne Chardonnay 2022
  • Rose: Le Rosé D’Azur, Côtes de Provence Rosé 2023
  • Sparkling: Lamberti, Prosecco

Available beers include:

  • Paulaner München Weissbier
  • Peroni
  • Ballast Point Sculpin IPA
  • Fall Brewing Plenty for All

In addition to alcoholic drinks, there are a handful of drink stations scattered around the lounge offering non-alcoholic beverages.

These include:

  • Coffee from Groundworks Coffee
  • Soda
  • Orange, cranberry, and pineapple juice
  • Cucumber mint water
  • Sparkling Harney and Sons Paris tea
  • Cold brew from Groundworks Coffee

Final Thoughts

The Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club is a great addition to Chase’s airport lounge network. At over 10,000 square feet, it manages to feel roomy. At the same time, its dedicated seating areas make it feel cozy and exclusive. Noise from one section didn’t carry to others, due to the sectioning.

Pair this with good food, good drinks, and free facials for everyone, and we expect this lounge to be a very popular choice for anyone traveling through San Diego International Airport (SAN).
