You’ll have 1 fewer option for redeeming your Citi ThankYou Points as of January 25, 2026. Citi has posted a notice that it’s ending points transfers to Aeromexico Rewards on that date.

While this can sound disappointing at first, there are 2 silver linings here. First, this was never a great transfer option when put into context. Second, you have ample notice to finish any transfers you want to make before the deadline.

Here’s what you should know about this upcoming change.

Citi Ending ThankYou Points Transfers to Aeromexico Rewards

Presently, you can transfer from Citi ThankYou to the Aeromexico Rewards program at a 1:1 ratio if you have a Citi ThankYou Points-earning credit card with an annual fee, such as the Citi Strata Elite℠ Card, Citi Strata Premier^® Card, or the Citi Prestige^® Card (which is no longer open to new applicants).

If you only have a ThankYou Points card with no annual fee, then you can transfer points at a 10:7 ratio.

However, these transfers are going away on January 25, 2026, based on messaging showing on the Citi transfer partners page, publicly available here (no login required). This was first reported by AwardWallet.

Citi’s message confirms that transfers made before January 25, 2026, will not be affected. Plus, given the messaging saying transfers will end “effective January 25, 2026,” you should finish any points transfers you want to make no later than January 24 — as this will probably end 1 minute after midnight on the 25th.

On January 25, 2026, transfers from Citi to Aeromexico will go away. Luckily, Citi has given us more than a month’s notice, in case you want to plan your final redemptions.

Put into context, though, this was never Citi’s most valuable transfer option — or the most valuable way to send points to Aeromexico Rewards. The best remains sending Amex points to Aeromexico, and that’s still available.
