If you want to travel to Mexico City this year, you’re in luck. There are flight deals to the city at bargain prices — and a ton of available dates.

Here’s what you need to know about the deal and how to book!

Fare Deal — Details

We’re spotting some of the cheapest flight deals to Mexico City (MEX and NLU airports) we’ve ever seen. Deals are available on AeromexicoUnited AirlinesVolaris, and Viva, starting at just $153 round-trip. Many of the cheapest flights are in basic economy, so remember that you’ll need to pay extra for perks like baggage and seat selection. And note that Volaris and Viva are low-cost carriers.

If any deals interest you, play around with a few dates on Google Flights and then book directly with the airline.

  • Class: Economy
  • Routes: Dallas (DFW), Houston (IAH), Miami (MIA), New York (JFK), Newark (EWR) to Mexico City (MEX and NLU)
  • Dates: Spring and fall 2025
  • Rates: As low as $155 round-trip

Hot Tip:

Interestingly, some of the cheapest deals don’t actually fly into Mexico City (MEX). Instead, these deals fly into nearby Felipe Ángeles International Airport (NLU), a former military airport now used for commercial flights. This airport is located in Zumpango, about 20 miles from Mexico City, and is the hub airport for Viva. Buses from the airport go to the Mexico City Metro.

How To Book and Where To Stay

You’ll find the cheapest availability in the spring and fall months of 2025. However, some summer dates are available for a few hundred dollars more.

Once you’ve settled on travel dates, the next important step is to decide which credit card to use that rewards on travel purchases. Some of the best travel cards out there include The Platinum Card® from American ExpressChase Sapphire Reserve®, and the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card.

Hotels in Mexico City tend to be on the cheaper side, and this is true whether you’re paying with cash or booking using hotel points. If you’re looking for some solid points options, here are some of our favorites:

Final Thoughts

Traveling to Mexico City on a budget is possible, thanks to these dirt-cheap flight deals from a handful of major U.S. cities. However, they probably won’t last for long. If you’ve been thinking about a trip to Mexico, we suggest booking now before the deals are gone.
