Update:The offer mentioned below has expired and is no longer available.

Fantastic deals are available to Dominica, one of the most pristine islands in the Caribbean, starting at just $418 round-trip.

Let’s take a look at the deal and how you can book!

Fare Deal — Details

This deal is on American Airlines from New York/Newark and Miami (MIA) to the Caribbean island of Dominica (no, not the Dominican Republic). The NYC-area deals include a short layover at Miami International Airport (MIA).

American recently announced daily service from Miami to Dominica for the summer months, which makes it easier than ever to visit the island.

You can play around with dates on Google Flights and then book directly through American. You may find cheaper prices with less-reputable online travel agencies (OTAs), but if you want peace of mind in case your travel plans change, you should book directly with the airline or through an OTA like Expedia.

  • Class: Basic Economy
  • Routes: New York (JFK and LGA), Newark (EWR), and Miami (MIA) to Dominica (DOM)
  • Dates: June to September 2024
  • Rates: As low as $418 round-trip
Hot Tip:

The cheapest flights are in basic economy, American’s most restrictive fare class. This fare class allows for 1 personal item and 1 carry-on (no checked baggage is allowed), with no upgrades allowed.

Best Ways To Book

The cheapest deals are available in late June, though more expensive tickets are available throughout the summer of 2024.

Either way, you’ll want to pay with a card that rewards you for travel purchases. Here are some of our favorites at Upgraded Points:

Dominica is a tiny island in the Caribbean, nestled between Martinique and Guadeloupe. Owing to its high mountains and rainforests, it is considered the “greenest” in the region.

While there are few big-box hotel chains or points hotels on the island, you have 2 options for booking a stay with points.

First up is Atlantique View Resort and Spa, an Ascend Hotel Collection brand under the Choice Privileges umbrella. The resort is a steal if you want to visit the island on a budget, with rates starting around $130 per night. (Award nights don’t appear to be available).

The more luxurious option is the InterContinental Dominica Cabrits Resort & Spa. Rates start at around $450 or 72,000 IHG One Rewards points per night.

Final Thoughts

This is an excellent flight deal to Dominica, an island where cash flights can easily top $1,200 round-trip. If you’ve been looking for an affordable Caribbean getaway, book this deal before it’s gone!

The information regarding the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card was independently collected by Upgraded Points and not provided nor reviewed by the issuer.
