Mauritius is a tiny island nation located in the middle of the Indian Ocean. Although small, it packs a punch, with a population of over 1.2 million people and absolutely enviable beaches.

It’s usually quite expensive to fly to Mauritius, but we’ve found deals — in business class — for less than $2,600 round-trip from all over the United States.

Let’s take a look at the details.

Fare Details

These flights are operated by Saudia, which has been on a tear recently in offering discounted airfare to hard-to-reach locations. We flew Saudia last year and found that while the soft product could be improved, its hard product was top-notch.

  • Class: Business
  • Routes: Los Angeles (LAX), New York (JFK), Chicago (ORD) to Port Louis, Mauritius (MRU)
  • Dates: September to November 2023
  • Rates: As low as $2,565 round-trip

We found the cheapest rates on flights from Los Angeles (LAX) to Port Louis (MRU), which include a stopover in Jeddah (JED).

You can find similar fares across all of Saudia’s U.S. routes, including this option from New York (JFK).

This also includes Washington, D.C. (IAD).

Best Ways To Book

You’ll find the cheapest tickets offered by a third-party provider, such as Expedia or Priceline. This can be great for saving money and stacking deals, but you’ll want to be aware that changing flights booked through an online travel agency (OTA) can be a real headache.

Still, if this is the course you choose, be sure to use a card that’ll maximize your rewards, such as the Chase Sapphire Reserve®, which earns 3x Ultimate Rewards per $1 spent on all travel purchases.

Otherwise, you can choose to book this flight directly with Saudia. If this ends up being your pick, you’ll want to use a card such as The Platinum Card® from American Express, which earns 5x Membership Rewards points on flights purchased directly from the airline or via Amex Travel (up to $500,000 per year; then 1x points).

Final Thoughts

It’s incredibly rare to find cheap flights to Mauritius, let alone in business class. If you’re interested in visiting this island nation, be sure to book this fare quickly — we don’t expect it to last!
