Update:The offer mentioned below has expired and is no longer available.

It’s not often that you find deals from the West Coast to Europe for under $500, which is why we sprung on this deal as soon as we found it. Operated by Star Alliance airline SAS, you’ll have some long layovers — but that just gives you time time get out and stretch your legs. Let’s take a look at the details.

Fare Deal — Details

As you might expect with fares as low as these, the price of the ticket only includes the airfare. Everything else, like seat selection and checked bags, will come at an additional cost.

  • Class: Economy
  • Routes: Los Angeles (LAX), San Francisco (SFO), or Seattle (SEA) to Dublin (DUB), Madrid (MAD), or Paris (CDG)
  • Dates: February to April 2024
  • Rates: As low as $416 round-trip

The absolute cheapest rates we found flew from Los Angeles (LAX) to Dublin (DUB). On the return leg you’re getting a free stopover in Copenhagen (CPH), which is even better!

You can also get to Paris (CDG) at these prices, which is incredibly rare for the popular city:

San Francisco (SFO) is cheap as well, as you can see with this option to Dublin (DUB):

Best Ways To Book

These flights can either be booked using a third party or directly via SAS’s website. While we don’t generally recommend using a third party, they do tend to offer the lowest prices — just be aware that if you need to change or cancel your flight, things can get hairy.

If you choose to book with an online travel agency (OTA), use a card that offers excellent travel insurance, such as the Chase Sapphire Reserve®. Along with travel protections, you’ll earn 3x Ultimate Rewards on all travel.

If you opt to book directly with the airline, a card such as The Platinum Card® from American Express will earn you 5x Membership Rewards on airfare (on the first $500,000 per year; 1x thereafter).

Final Thoughts

You aren’t going to find better prices for flights from the West Coast to Europe next spring, so if this travel has been on your list — go book it! Even though you’ll be rocking it in economy, you’ll have nice layovers to help spread out the time, and if you play your cards right, you can even squeeze a free stopover into the mix.
