The no-annual-fee IHG One Rewards Traveler Credit Card is my favorite hotel credit card — and it’s one most people completely overlook.

It’s especially valuable for one perk in particular, and that’s for unlocking my fourth consecutive award night free at eligible IHG Hotels & Resorts properties. This benefit saves me thousands of points every year through strategically timed 4-night stays at the same property.

Combined with an elevated limited-time welcome offer, I’d argue that the IHG Traveler card is one of the best to pick up right now — especially if you’re planning trips in 2026 and beyond.

IHG Traveler Card Overview

The IHG Traveler card is a solid hotel rewards card, particularly for those who frequently stay at IHG Hotels & Resorts. It earns up to 17 total points per $1 on IHG stays, 3 points per $1 on monthly bills, at gas stations, and restaurants, and 2 points per $1 on all other purchases.

The IHG Traveler card also features a limited-time welcome offer through March 18, 2026, allowing you to earn up to 50% more bonus points than its standard bonus offer:

Earn up to 120k bonus points. Earn 90,000 bonus points after spending $2,000 in the first 3 months. Plus, up to 30,000 bonus points by earning an additional 3x on purchases, except on IHG Hotels & Resorts, in the first 6 months on up to $10,000 spent.

IHG Rewards Loyalty Program Review

We value IHG One Rewards points at 0.5 cents apiece, making this welcome offer worth $600. That is a fantastic return, particularly for a card with a $0 annual fee.

It also provides numerous perks and benefits, including complimentary IHG Silver Elite status (with the option to spend to earn IHG Gold Elite status), a 20% discount on IHG points purchases, trip cancellation and trip interruption insurance, and purchase protection.

What Is the Fourth-Night-Free Perk?

As an IHG Traveler cardholder, I score the ability to get the fourth reward night free when I redeem IHG points for a stay of 4 or more consecutive nights at the same property — simply by carrying the card. That’s because the fourth night free perk is included with automatic Silver Elite status, another benefit of the card.

Know that this benefit applies only when redeeming IHG One Rewards points — not for paid stays or points-plus-cash bookings. However, there is no limit to how many times cardholders can use this benefit each year.

Hot Tip:

There are 3 IHG credit cards: the IHG Traveler card, the IHG One Rewards Premier Credit Card, and the IHG One Rewards Premier Business Credit Card. The latter 2 have annual fees, but I keep the IHG Traveler card around since it unlocks the fourth night free benefit, all with a $0 annual fee.

How To Use the IHG Fourth-Reward-Night-Free Benefit

Using the benefit is seamless. All you need to do is log in to your IHG One Rewards account and perform a 4-night award search. When searching, cardholders will see the standard award rates crossed out and replaced with lower figures.

The original rates represent the average nightly cost before the perk is applied, while the updated rates reflect the reduced average after the benefit is applied.

For example, 4 nights at the voco Seoul Myeongdong — in the heart of all the action — can be booked for an average of 28,250 points per night for a total of 113,000 IHG One Rewards points. But when you factor in the fourth-night-free benefit, the rate drops to just 20,500 points per night, or a total of 82,000 IHG One Rewards points.

Although in this example I only saved 31,000 points, worth $155 according to our valuations, this is a major perk courtesy of the no-annual-fee IHG Traveler card. This benefit provides even more value for higher-end properties, where rates can be as high as 100,000 points per night.

Final Thoughts

The IHG Traveler card offers numerous benefits, including Silver Elite status and a discount on IHG points purchases. However, its most valuable perk is the fourth-reward-night-free benefit, which allows cardholders to get a fourth night free on stays using IHG One Rewards points. The limited-time welcome offer of up to 120,000 bonus points ends on March 18, 2026.
