Hilton has announced that 2 major properties on Mexico’s Caribbean coast, the Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya and Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya, will join the chain’s all-inclusive portfolio.

Here’s what you need to know if you’re planning to visit either property in the future or already have a reservation.

Hilton Grows Its All-Inclusive Footprint in Mexico With 2 Luxe Resorts

Hilton shared today that two of its hotels along the Caribbean coast of Mexico will soon become all-inclusive properties.

The Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya will become a fully all-inclusive, adults-only (18 and up) property as of January 10, 2027, while Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya will open an all-inclusive portion, the Ceiba Club, for guests 18 and up, on the same day, while still offering a traditional stay to the rest of its guests.

Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya is a luxury beachfront resort featuring spacious rooms and suites, stunning ocean views, a variety of high-end dining options, and more.

Meanwhile, Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya is a luxury resort set along a secluded bay just over an hour from Cancun International Airport (CUN). Its new adults-only Ceiba Club all-inclusive experience includes several dining options, with Mediterranean, Japanese, and Mexican cuisine among them. Guests who don’t book Ceiba Club can continue staying at the resort as usual.

While you may not think of the Conrad and Waldorf Astoria brands as being conducive to the all-inclusive model, Hilton says the perception of all-inclusive has changed dramatically in recent years, and there’s an appetite to combine luxury with the ease and accessibility of an all-inclusive stay.

The evidence shows Hilton is correct. Hotel chains have been scrambling to beef up their all-inclusive portfolios, and brands that aren’t typically associated with all-inclusive stays have announced similar plays, including the forthcoming Park Hyatt Riviera Maya and the recently opened Kimpton Tres Ríos – All Inclusive.

Hilton says that current reservations for stays after the January 10 transition date will be honored under the terms they were booked. The lone exception is for guests under 18 who are booked at the Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya. The property will work with these guests to arrange alternative accommodations if they’re needed.

Hot Tip:

While some may love the idea of a luxurious, adults-only, all-inclusive resort, one UP staffer found the Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya to be ideally suited to families. If you wanted to visit this property with your little ones, you’ll have to do so quickly.

How To Book

Both of these properties participate in the Hilton Honors program, meaning members can earn and redeem Hilton Honors points for stays.

Unfortunately, pricing data isn’t showing at the time of writing for either property. We suspect it has something to do with today’s announcement and Hilton needing to rework pricing. However, you can count on the Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya to be pricier — perhaps significantly so — than the Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya.

Generally, though, it makes sense to redeem points at high-end, all-inclusive resorts like these. Luckily, there are plenty of ways to earn Hilton Honors points. The chain offers several co-branded credit cards. Aside from the hearty welcome bonuses, you’ll also earn points on your Hilton stays and categories like restaurants and travel.

You can also transfer points from American Express Membership Rewards and Bilt Rewards to your Hilton Honors account if you’re still running low. Finally, you can earn points on your Lyft rides or with Hilton Honors Dining.

We’ll continue to check on the properties and will update this post as soon as we can access pricing information again.

Final Thoughts

The high-end all-inclusive trend continues with 2 of Hilton’s top brands getting in on the action in Mexico. The Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya will go fully all-inclusive for guests 18 and up, while the Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya will add an adults-only all-inclusive experience for those who want to try it out.

Both changes happen on January 10, so keep that date circled as you consider your travel plans.
